Boxer builds are pretty fun once you get used to them. Though you still get get owned by spears.

i feel like duel servers are getting to the point where the people who play them the most are the ones who've been playing mordhau 24/7 since launch and have figured out most of the tricks i can't keep up with them
I love meeting skilled players, or else I won't learn.
If I take a break for a few days and hop into a duel server I'm guaranteed to be relatively bad and only get marginally better several rounds in. But somewhere around that point I stop playing and take another multi-day break, and so the cycle continues. Unrelated to getting stomped in duel servers, I wish this game had more in-depth heraldry customization, that's one of the few things about For Honor that I appreciated.
Yeah a For Honor pattern/symbol/embossing(correct embossing not just ploped down square) in mordhau would be great.
i don't even know how to chamber and i still consistently beat better players. you can win against almost anyone if you have good reflexes, good yomi, and the weapon and perks that feel right for you.
i mean, that's a given because that's what it comes down to in the end. i'm just getting slow my favourite players to duel are the ones who do near chivalry like moves, but it's a real pain in the ass to get hits in on them as they also tend to be too confident in all of their attacks to be thrown off by any attempts to break tempo. feels good when you finally bring them down though. and then it's back to getting thrashed
duel servers are neat but the real magic is having that special fight in the heat of a frontline battle
So what's the fastest way of getting XP outside of Horde? I tried it, and it seems incredibly boring.
just play frontline
Between horde mode and duel servers I am getting better at my Scout loadout. I still wish I could have a solo horde mode without having to forego rewards. That, or give people a reason not to push me out of servers when they join at Wave 9.
Nothing beats the magic of picking up a pan off of the ground and having a fight with Gordon Ramsay himself on the sidelines.
Don't think I've seen anyone post their horde bois yet so. https://i.imgur.com/Frz4THU.jpg
I love picking a slightly off to the side spot and acting like a cocky dick, encouraging people to come at me. Yeah sometimes I get mobbed by 5 people and die, but other times I chop them down in succession and sit there like a menacing raid boss twirling my sword. I don't think a game has ever given me that feeling.
Fresh new OC from playing a match with 7 rapier/shield users who achieved zen by buying the logitech gaming mouse that allows you to unlock the wheel: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/213360/12506014-7f8a-4ffb-99db-484f4e10ce7a/average rapier user.png
For any shield user, wait for a breather/don't hit their shield and wait for them to push it in your face. Facehug them and keep walking forward. And morph an attack into a kick. Then the magic happens. See - now they're open for a quick face stab. But as most terrified board users, they'll immediately block again after being hurt. Which means you kick them in the dumb face again right away. I've been juggling these cunts with the kick/stab/kick/stabs combo now that the kick is buffed.
Rapier stabs come out faster than any morph possible, let alone a kick. Shield is there just in case they get more than 2 opponents, otherwise they can just throw out infinite stabs with how fast the recovery is (chambering does nothing because either: A( chamber a stab right back, or B( keep stabbing through a morph). Its possibly the only weapon besides dagger that can out speed morphs from chambers.
I too have that mouse you can unlock the scrollwheel, chasing people with the fists of fury
It's over. Everyone go home. https://www.reddit.com/r/Mordhau/comments/bq78ly/just_came_up_with_this/
To be honest, I was considering on getting that Logitech G502 mouse specifically for Mordhau. For the extra programmable buttons obviously, not really for the unlockable scrollwheel as I prefer having stab binded to mousewheel pressed.
Frontline - while fun - seems very slow as far as getting XP goes.
If you do well in frontline I.E. top 1/4th of the scoreboard you get more EXP and gold in ~20 minutes than you would get it in frontline.
I've been using medic bags off and on and I haven't reached a conclusion with them yet. For two points they are very powerful but a lot of people just seem to ignore them. This coupled with the fact that enemies can use them as well when the line shifts backward has lead me to using them less as time goes on, which is a shame because I'm always attracted to the support role (not least because I happen to suck at fighting people )
You have to guide people to the bags, when you see people starting to turn around from a fight, throw a bag and stare down at it as if you were using it. It's stupid but it works people started using my medic bags a lot more since I sstarted doing this.
Yeah, I don't have a medic class myself, but I've noticed that people typically won't use them unless you throw them down after the fighting has begun. Placing them beforehand won't do a thing.
Best place for medkits is behind the frontline. The reason as to why they're not used at least in frontline is because people are too stupid to retreat when injured and let their teammates handle it for them in their absence.
I dunno what it is but something about disarming shields is so incredibly satisfying, bonus points if it's all one smooth combo too. https://streamable.com/op60g
I find your lack of chambering disturbing.
