What was that space game that looked kind of like starfox?
Galaxy Force 2.

Thank you so much man!
Wow, what a beautiful game. Far better looking than Starfox.
Tbf, it's on far more powerful hardware.
At least I assume that the arcade architecture it was on is more powerful.
Technically yeah, Starfox is more impressive by way of what it was pulling off (actual 3D visuals combined with 2D scaling, and using an external chip to do the leg work at that), but a bunch of polygons with basic shading and very rare texturework combined with a difficult framerate hold it back. Both on a technical level and aesthetically Sega cornered the arcade market with some of the most advanced games for years ahead of time while still having plenty of visual style and polish. It was always their strongest field of games development, and made the most money of anything back in Japan.
Just got it for my 3DS and it's fucking awesome
Gunstar Heroes was ported to the Game Gear?! I never knew! They did the amazing ReBirth games too, wow. I'm confident that the Genesis Mini will be a rounding success with them dealing with the software.
I'm not expecting any fancy features beyond the standard save states, but we do know that there will be a choice between regional versions of some games where applicable, too, so Sonic 1 would probably have its US release as well as the JP release which had extra parallax like the scrolling clouds in Green Hill. It already has twice the amount of games other collectible mini systems have too, and I expect their emulation to be solid. However, my biggest beef is that damn 3-button controller, all because of a deal with Retrobit for sold-separately six-button controllers; Japan's getting the six-button inherently, and that thing's damn essential for at least a couple of games on the known list so far.
What other game used 6-button aside from Street Fighter? I didn;t grew up with a Genesis aside from playing it on my cousin's house, mostly just Sonic 2.
Comix Zone for sure. With a six-button controller you could use items immediately instead of having to toggle between them awkwardly, which could be fatal without preparing in between every fight. Major fighting game releases besides SF also made significant use of it. Some games even used the MODE button for special functions rather than toggling between 3 and 6 button modes. Doesn't seem like there's a large amount of documentation of which games made significant use of it, though.
