I'm rather disturbed by the smooth transitions between faces.
He's got a whole twitter of these, churning them out.

Replacing Edward Norton with...Edward Norton. (Fight Club Spoilers I guess)

This tech is going to be used as a weapon in the future I just know it.
I agree with above post, this is scary.
This is exciting and should become more common an easily usable by the general public along with voice mimicry via AI
The same systems that can be used to generate these can also be used to determine that they are fake.
I genuinely wonder if we'll start seeing these tools used in filmmaking.
I guess Scanner Darkly sort of did it but that was hand done rotoscoping, that's different
jesus christ that is surreal
Wow this actually makes the scene even better
People worry too much about deepfakes. Faces have patterns, it's easy for a face to be recognized. It'll be MUCH harder to fake the hair and the body and this is important because it's very easy to tell in a video like this that it's clearly not Arnold.
The problem is that the deepfakes can be tweaked to do this

And the problem with that is that the body language does not match at all. You might be able to fool some people with this but it would get debunked quickly I think.
50 bucks it already has.
damn this looks just as good if not even better than some of the super high budget CG face replacement work in hollywood movies
i'd imagine it'll make stuff like replacing stuntmen's faces way more convenient and accessible for smaller productions
The problem is that debunking takes time and effort.
Whereas deepfakes will reach a point where they can be mass produced/automated production.
Furthermore people don't always update their beliefs when faced with fresh evidence.
Another one...

(note: reveals plot twist of fight club)
That's not the problem. The problem is all the morons who will believe it anyway. Look how many dumb fucks believed that obviously fake as hell Pelosi video that the Orange retweeted. Now imagine what agents of chaos will be able to do in five years with deep fake technology.
