You would be surprised, I have seen a load of adults with T2RF as a result of the flu put on ECMO, and that's not even counting the ones who are just treated in ICU.
Flu is an absolute killer, and the conditions that these people are being kept in do not help at all.
We had a couple of otherwise healthy twenty year olds die here in denmark as well during this season. People really underestimate how dangerous the flu can be.
