Hundreds of undocumented immigrants occupied France’s biggest airport on Sunday, filling an entire terminal and demanding to see the country’s prime minister.
Footage posted on Twitter shows roughly 500 migrants chanting in Terminal 2 of Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, as about a dozen riot police in tactical gear hold them back.
“France does not belong to the French! Everyone has a right to be here!” one protester can be heard yelling into a loudspeaker.
“France does not belong to the French!"
uhhh
Anyways, I can't believe that it's 2019 and the migrant issue is still so pervasive, I would have thought an effective plan of some sort would have been implemented years ago
Jesus fuckin Christ in terms of fuelling nationalism this nice little soundbite will give the far-right a fuckin nuke to use against migrants now. Talk about playing yourself. But in all seriousness though I don't think I'd particularly want people who thought that to come to my country either.
France is a nation state and has a duty to protect and serve its citizens. If you are not a citizen of the EU or staying on a visa the Government of France has no binding obligation to you.
Uuh yeah. You're gonna' have to be a special kind of person to want to take the occupiers side on this one.
'France doesn't belong to the french'- Well who in the fuck does it belong to then?
"france doesn't belong to the french"
...what..
imagine shooting yourself in the foot not with a gun but a tactical nuke and taking everyone around you down with you. absolute moron.
This is not how you get people on your side holy shit.
Too true
France us ours
Yeah but they always get their friends to beat you up.
The protest was organized by the migrant support group La Chapelle Debout, which said their members call themselves “Black Vests.”
In an official statement, the group asked to meet with Prime Minister
Edouard Philippe over the country’s asylum policy as well as the
leaders of Air France. They demanded that the airline “stop any
financial, material, logistical or political participation in
deportations.”
A migrant who took part in the protest warned it wouldn’t be the last.
“We have targeted Air France, and other actions will follow,” he told the paper.
I heard awful things about how the support on the immigrants is really low (so stuff like the massive camps in Calais or in Paris happens) although the sources that I have about it changes, so I don't have reliable information.
Someone within France can give us extra info about this group and this topic?
