The company, which includes 23 Jamie’s Italian outlets, plus the Fifteen and Barbecoa restaurants in London and Jamie’s Diner at Gatwick airport, said KPMG would be appointed as administrator. Oliver said: “I am deeply saddened by this outcome and would like to thank all of the staff and our suppliers who have put their hearts and souls into this business for over a decade. I appreciate how difficult this is for everyone affected. “I would also like to thank all the customers who have enjoyed and supported us over the last decade, it’s been a real pleasure serving you.
I still haven't forgiven him for what he did to Turkey Twizzlers.
What happened? I thought he was pretty popular
Anytime I heard about his restaurants I heard they are terrible. Both my brother and mum went to separate ones and both had equally bad experiences apparently (don't remember why, I think it was food quality). Other conversations I overheard were the same.
This guy makes the menus, so of course his food empire turned into a massive failure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsTWFsEi0aE
His restaurant business has been on life support in the past year. From what I've read, mostly because of increasing competition and their way too rapid expansion. From my limited experience, Jamie's Italian isn't something to write home about either.
jamie oliver's a cunt so he deserves this, but his workers don't, and i hope they can find new jobs real soon
It's sad for people to lose their jobs, but honestly the two times I've been to one of Jamie Oliver's restaurants it was largely forgettable. Very average food at above average prices.
But what if they're all cunts too?
I went last year and thought I'd probably never go again. It just seemed like it was more on the pricey side for food that was just OK, and that you were likely just paying more because it has a celeb chef name attached to it. It wasn't that it was inherently terrible, just forgettable and that you could probably eat nicer for cheaper elsewhere.
then fuck em
I know this is probably a joke, and Oliver did go too far sometimes, but it's hardly impossible to make school lunches both healthy and tasty. I never had any issues with his criticisms of turkey twizzlers and shit like that because they're really not stuff kids should be having every day. Just my .2c or .2p I guess.
[Laughs in double bacon cheeseburger XXL] Hope the people involved manage to find something soon. It sure is fucked to have no job.
The removing them from lunches thing wasn't so much the problem. It's that he focused on them specifically, to the point that they got so much negative attention that they got discontinued entirely to avoid getting further criticism.
why is he a cunt?
he tried to stop unhealthy school lunches. Some parents saw it as their right to be able to send their kids to school with an uncooked rustler burger and 2 packets of quavers so they weren't best pleased when Jamie said they were killing their kids through laziness.
Hypocritical cunt who peddles fearmongering look-down-your-nose sneer telly. His packaged ready meals are easily as bad as the shite he used to spear on his TV shows back in the day, and he's put his face to plenty of unethical, unhealthy brands without an inch of criticism. There's also an overwhelming air of classism and snobbery to a lot of his programmes, as well as downright bullying attitudes towards kids' and their tastes. In a lot of cases where he's trying to "educate" kids about food he's more telling them what they should do rather than trying to encourage them to get interested in nutrition and think about things.
Don't forget this gem https://youtu.be/mKwL5G5HbGA
got nothing on the V8 beef brick and bovril smoothie
and especially shouldn't be forgotten that he took 90 million pounds from woolworth's in sponsorship money, after he panned them for dishonest corporate practices. he's a hypocrite through and through, and it couldn't have happened to a nicer man imo
Excuse me, it's called The Bloody Awful.
It's a shame about the workers, but yeah, he really is a cunt. Came to Brazil and said our peak cuisine (traditional sweets) was trash. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5IaTnYp4xo
