Honestly, even if the movie ends up good I'd still end up disliking it purely for the fact that it completely undermines the message of the third for a quick buck.
man this looks stunning as hell
That's really the biggest crime here. Toy Story 3 was literally an immensely satisfying way to say good-bye. This is just... unnecessary. Then again, apparently the ending of TS4 is also really heartfelt. I don't know. I don't see the point.
I mean how can you do better than 3's ending? Kill someone off? That'll never happen. Plus I imagine there was a very...'vocal' audience that wanted to see how Woody and the gang were doing as Bonnie's friends. Then there's the supposed Buzz finds a better Buzz that beats him senselessstoryline that the director wanted to put here because having it in 3 would make the ending much more depressing than the current one.
Something tells me that it's going to be a good sendoff regardless since no more Toy Story is happening afterwards plus the fact that no one wants a Cars 2.0.
The only thing giving this hope was that John Lasseter was convinced that it was worth it - or so he told us. I think my hangups just come from WANTING to be jazzed about it, but I can't bring myself to; and TS is literally my favorite movie of all time
The tone from this trailer feels a lot more relaxed than the last one, and we see a lot more of Buzz and the rest of the toy cast. They've done a bang-up job of keeping the major plot details under wraps.
I'm pretty confident this'll be a good movie. They haven't let me down on the past three so I have no inkling to think they would start now.
I feel like people are missing the point of this film and are instantly thinking "oh this is just a cash grab film" and i'm gonna have to disagree. The opening to this article explains where they are coming from with this one, and i can get where they are going with it after reading the opening statement. I'm just hoping they stick the landing with it.
Toy Story 3 has the perfect ending. Everyone knows this. Even the people at Pixar know it. At CinemaCon 2019, Toy Story 4 producer Jonas Rivera came out and explained that, yes, Toy Story 3 has a great ending, but it’s an ending to Andy’s arc. The Toy Story films have always been about Woody first and foremost so that’s where the seeds for Toy Story 4 began. Give Woody his story.

Yeah I was against Toy Story 4 until I started seeing the trailers, this one in particular looks fuckin' amazing.
I think this movie will be worth it just for the implication of Forky alone. That is definitely a thing worth exploring.
It's impossible for it to be a terrible kids movie, since really they'll enjoy any shit you throw at it
but will it be a good movie for parents who were fans as kids, that is the true question
Trust me, there are kids films that even Disney made where they simply did not care about your kids. By that I mean it's only FOR them leaving the parents and older siblings left out.
Toy Story 4 seems to not have that problem, only stating the obvious; the last film had the perfect ending so this is a tough pill to swallow given the hype and story behind it.
Also, doesn't this mark the 2nd time the people have seen the toys come to life aside from Sid from TS1?
It was displayed as though it was "flash forward idea" so technically it doesn't happen if the trailer is to be followed
