Gee it’s almost as if massive spy software operations will always be vulnerable to bad actors
"Everyone's favorite "private" nude sharing service isn't as secure as previously thought, users shocked and terrified" sounds more like something from the onion.
THE MEMES BECOME REALITY
weird that employees of a company that collects massive amounts of data have access to said data.
I hate it when they cheap out on premium snapchats
I'm always surprised that such tools completely rely on the logging instead of requiring authorization from higher ups or security department to use them.
How exactly is Snapchat spyware?
This is why literally every single person who says we should have a backdoor code for the FBI is a delusional idiot
companies already screw up enough to make a backdoor themselves
my apologies for not being clear, I meant the spy software Snapchat used to spy on their own users.
These tools always exist so that the right people can navigate use data when it's needed. The problem rises when there's a internal breach.
It's like how garry can see all the private messages from the old forum. It's just a database.
A proper setup for large scale systems are access levels, like support staff at a respectable level only being able to see certain info before they need to escalate it.
Still funny that a support member for Twitter suspended the US president.
Word is that Snap internals are quite restrictive as is, every team doesn't even know what others could be working on most the time, since the CEO is supposedly quite paranoid about shit leaking.
