It needs to be gone before 1st January 2020. If there is anything remaining, it will be donated between charities of my choice; NW Air Ambulance, NW Blood Bikers, Lancashire MIND.
We need to come up with some ideas to spend the money on. I'm a busy person so I won't be doing any of the planning for this. I will provide the financing once a realistic plan is presented to me.
Some ideas that could be cool;
Community Raffle
Using the money to build some kind of memorial to Facepunch and the community
Using it to send people Facepunch patches / t-shirts
I won't be handing the money over to anybody else because I wouldn't trust anybody else with it. I don't know anybody still active on FP well enough to be confident it would be spent correctly. When the money was donated, it was made perfectly clear that I was the one managing the fund. I will continue to do so until it is gone.

I don't see the point in investing in any long term projects for FP unless we get final word from Garry that the forum is here to stay. IMO, refund donors if they want it and any money that's left over should go straight to a charity on behalf of the forum.
There was over $5000 in donations. Giving people money back isn't going to happen.
Let's not be pessimistic. We have a chance to do something really cool here. Why be negative?

Probably won't dedicate it to the entire fund but the patches/shirts/any sort of neat trinket would be neat. I always appreciated anytime Facepunch does Christmas cards, and receiving those letters along with the cool stuff like stickers and personal notes is always nice. I still have the one FP logo one and with the Rust-themed card with a naked Rust character chasing Santa Claus and the two sticker logos that came with it.
FP was the bomb at giving stickers during Christmas. I'd like to see that again. I still have the original Rust and a red and blue Facepunch sticker

it would be so cool to get little pins made or some little engraving for fp members. A shitload of FP logo stickers would be cool. I really think the community fund should go to something to give the members that stuck by fp and to remember it by when we switch to KO eventually
Definitely stickers AND patches. Although I know patches don't work for every possible scenario like sticking onto cars and stuff they'll still last a good bit longer in most cases.

I still have a green facepunch sticker on my computer case. though I'm not really a fan of stickers, I'd be down with some commemorative patches and similar jazz.
I'd love a patch or a pin. I have a patch jacket for both so I'd love to add the FP moniker to that.

I say have two community events, one during the summer sale and one around Christmas. Do another live stream with Hezzy, use some of the proceeds to give away games, patches, shirts, etc.

I'm totally down for pins, patches and stickers. But I certainly wouldn't be against the NW Air Ambulance getting a donation, those guys can do with anything they can get. My family as as a whole donate to them monthly.

Pins/patches/stickers sounds neat. Loved the stickers I got from the Christmas card events.
