The turnout here was also higher than expected, five years ago it was 29%, now its around 42%!
And I know republicans are rather unpopular here, but I'm happy that even the good citizens of Pannonia Superior went to the polls:

can't believe the participation was so high, the romans came back from the dead to vote,
now that's what I call dedication to the democratic process
The turnout here was 21%
Due to bad planning, I didn't have time to vote. However, things have certainly progressed in terms of turnout. To be honest, this year was the first I realized we even have EU elections. I had no idea there even was an election five years ago. No one talked about it, no one advertised it, politicians didn't even promote themselves here (iirc, but not as much as this year)
Agreed, the last elections were rather neglected in my country. That said, I am glad that people voted. I guess the current political situations make citizens far more aware of the elections.
I am proud that the number of voters have risen so much in my country and that so many of my friend and family have decided to vote (or at the very least discuss the issues).
Myself, I was out literally the last half-hour voting was open
Still much, much too low.
Well yeah obviously but it is better than constant disinterest.
wish we were handed out badges so i could flex on all the other infidels
In Romania this voting went so well, that the turnout reached an all-time-high. That led to the ruling party full of corrupt officials receiving it's lowest score ever. And the next day after the ruler of said party to be arrested for charges of corruption.
Pretty much Romania got rid of a huge cancer with this vote.

This is actually extremely good, because the main reason a lot of these anti-eu sentiments are popping up in the general populace (i'm not talking about those braying nationalists who keep making conspiracy theories about the (((globalists))) ) is because a lot of people view the EU as anti-democratic. Showing how the EU is a functioning democracy with a turnout rate for the EU parliament that's a little less than average for a functioning democracy is extremely good. Now we just need to kick out people like Juncker whose entire goal is to make the EU a unified state and (the bad part) will do it without the consent of all of the EU member states, as well as reverse shit like Article 13. Anti-EU advocates do have legitimate reasons for being against the EU, but the solution isn't dissolving the EU but making it more represented by the people.
