I hate the United Kingdom so much right now.
We're fuuuuucked.
I get the feeling that Russia has given the far right just enough of a nudge to possibly have succeeded in destroying the EU. I doubt it'll last much longer at this rate, given the other election results we're seeing - And then it's only a matter of time until the next - and last - world war.
Remain votes (Lib Dem/Green/SNP/PC/CUK) added up are greater than leave votes (Brexit Party/UKIP), leave are just condensed into the Brexit Party. Last time I added it up it was 39% vs 35% to remain.
Williams had been checking the disputed ballots as part of his duties as an election agent, and also found one ballot which had ‘wank’ written in every single box apart from the Green party. The voter left a note saying ‘not wank’ for the environmentalist party which was deemed permissible 🙄
Obviously this is gonna change, especially since the Tories typically do not do as well in the North-East, but still, this is BAD for the Conservatives: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/242634/109f5630-a1c4-47d9-a20b-aa4ce5661469/image.png The Greens above the Tories. Wow.
The EU was frankly destined to fail eventually anyways. You can't have a central economic bloc with a central currency, but disjointed economic policy among its members. The EU was destined to either eventually disintegrate, or assume so much sovereignty from its member states that it became the United states of Europe, and frankly the former has always seemed much more likely than the latter.
So much messy dumb stuff going on with these elections Labour committing suicide by not backing Remain Tories literally not even running a campaign. They literally never wrote a manifesto or launched a campaign at all. CUK running on Remain, taking votes away from the Lib Dems' much bigger Remain campaign In London a bunch of Extinction Rebellion activists ran, but they all ran as independents so their vote share is split and they have no chance The election itself wasn't legally confirmed to be happening until the last minute, this appears to have caused logistical bullshit that prevented some people from voting and will cause legal challenges to the result
Lot of expats never got their voting packs and some when they did, it was too late. This is a legal shitstorm.
oh boy here come the suicidal thoughts again whats the fucking point when everyone's dead set on this nationalist bullshit
It's directly the government's fault because they pretended these elections weren't going to happen until the last possible minute. They are going to get sued out the ass
Fuck this country

Jee, as a Scot, I can't wait to thank England for fucking this up for us again.
I feel miserable, and I'm not even in the UK. I'm sorry, brits. Ya'll have a long road ahead of you.
Lib Dems have come first place in London and Tories wiped out
Looks like we're not entirely to blame https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/225943/637779e9-c25e-4f8d-897f-0f08651c8a73/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/225943/1a4088fc-0856-43df-9104-85e65d538ff1/image.png
The EU is still very strong. It's not advantageous to leave due to how useful it is for most countries' economies. Having a strong economy is a big motivator for people in elections so I find it unlikely the EU will fail as you say.
I swear to God if young Remainers didn't get out and vote again like in the referendum I'm going to be so angry. Around or below 40% turnout is pitiful given the gravity of these elections.
I'm hoping they did because I've been on the shit end of hearing a load of young bexiters bragging about voting and how its going to get us to take back power from the EU cuck. ...
I voted Liberal Democrats on the day purely because Labour's position didn't really seem to be anything beyond trying to appease everyone.

I think the turnout was low because a lot of people still think we're just about to leave and are probably disinterested in electing MEPs as a result, even though this election is probably more important than previous ones.
I'm not surprised the brexit party has such a large amount given they're basically the only folks who are so vocally pro-leave. The name doesn't exactly beat around the bush either. I guess what really matters is the split between remain and leave parties - as long as there's more remain seats via the peicemeal parties vs. leave, I'll consider that a win. Some People need to remember that half the population did vote to leave, so the amount of people voting that way really shouldn't come as a shock.
I wasn't gonna vote for Labour because they'd do what they did with the 2017 election and use it to say "heh well x percent of people voted for parties that didn't want to stop Brexit :~~~)"

DELETE, BURN, I DON'T WANT TO SEE THIS.
