The initial results on Sunday evening suggested a strong showing for Liberal and Green parties, with Euroskeptic groups in France and the U.K. holding the gains they saw in 2014. Italy’s anti-immigration Lega party was also expected to make large gains, according to exit polls.
UKIP got zero seats
lmao
Seems like Sargon's political career did about as well as his software development career.
ya but figel narage still got a large amount of seats and demands to be involved in the brexit negotiations
I hope the other parties (LibDem, Labour, SNP, Greens etc) can band together to shut down the useless twats in the Brexit Party.
With the Tories basically wiped out his vote share only looks impressive because all the right-wing nutters voted for his one party whereas most remainers are split across 4 different parties that outnumber him if they work together on this issue.
It's cool to see smaller parties making actual progress but it's terrible that it's basically only due to the political polarisation that has been getting worse and worse over the last few years.
I guess, perhaps it's because people want change and they feel as though the middle ground parties are merely maintaining the status quo, so in retaliation they seek out that change and they don't care where it comes from, be it the far-right or the far-left.
The only problem is that it wasn't _both_ sides of our country, the upper half mostly went for the far-right while the lower half mostly went for Green.
We might just break our previous (world) record for "Days without a government" at this rate...
At this rate we won't need a government.
