No love for Ryzen 3?
Soon. When Ryzen 1000 launched R3 was the last to drop.

aaaahhh, should i get this or ryzen 5 2600
I'm confused, aren't these the Ryzen 3 chips?
Ryzen generation 3 yes, Ryzen 3 3xxx no. That would imply a low-mid range option which, as of now, they haven't revealed. But when your lowest Ryzen 5 model is $199 for 6c12t @3.6/4.2GHz, do you need one?
They have the Ryzen 5, 7 and 9 chips but not Ryzen 3. This is the third Gen Ryzen though, yes.

With how much he's winning you're going to get a bigger folder for Lisa Su than my Nick Cage folder
Even if the benchmarks in the show were a bit pushed up, man Ryzen 3 is a killer in Price/Performance. Also those TDP values, 65W 8C/16T? 105W 12C/24T??? What dark magic has AMD done here? I'm an Intel fan for the most part but my next upgrade looks a lot like Ryzen 3 if those claims hold true in third party benchmarks and if there isn't some other caveat (see MSI adding semi-active cooling to 570 boards).
Wow, this is pretty promising. Definitely will upgrade to Ryzen 3 in July if the benchmarks look good, I've currently got an FX-9370 that I need to get rid of.
when did CPUs get so expensive?
higher end CPUs have gotten more expensive, but the midrange and low end have gotten cheaper if anything. The Ryzen 3 has been an amazing value, and I’m sure the Ryzen 3 3000 will continue that.
Welp time to upgrade, hope I can get a good Mobo combo for under $600.
guess who just fucking bought an r5 2600 https://i.imgur.com/xDTQ00L.jpg
Ryzen 3 has been expected to get some release mid 2019 for almost a year now, half a year at least. Not a big fuck-up though, if you are lucky your board will work with Ryzen 3 just fine and all you have to do is try to sell your old one and get a Ryzen 3 instead.
It's still a good processor.
The 8-core 1700 and 2700 were also 65 watt parts.
The clocks are a bit more conservative than what I expected from 7nm considering the 12nm chips topped out at 4.4GHz, but the huge improvement in IPC was a pleasant surprise. And of course the leaked prices were fake AF, they've now got a product that's at least competitive with Intel if not superior in every way, of course they're gonna try to increase the margins. Still, considering the low TDPs and how mobo manufacturers are building stronger power delivery into x570 boards, you gotta expect there to be at least some overclocking potential left in these. If all goes well, looks like I'll be treating myself to a 3700x pretty soon.
The 3700X vs 3800X confuses me, the TPD is 40W higher for 300 Mhz Base and 100Mhz boost. Seems weird but oh well, that R5 3600 seems like a very tempting update for my i5 6500.
Hopefully they'll have the same price as the Ryzen 2xxx line. I am looking for an upgrade to my i5 3570k and the Ryzen 5 is just pleasing. (although I wish I had money for a Threadripper)
I can't believe they keep getting away with it!
Expensive? Just two years ago the 6-core Intel cpu I bought cost $600, and now they cost $200. It's been a great couple years for CPUs.

Damn, now they're winning on single threaded performance! What is the point of intel now?
that r5 3600x looks good for me
I'm sitting on an R5 1600 at the moment and let's just say I'll be keeping an eye on benchmarks.
You can get a 6-core processor for $150 today. 3 years ago you could only get a dual core for the same price.
