highly doubtful this will lead anywhere, south korea will have to wait until the next election. then again i don't know anything about their political system and if a president can be impeached for doing a perceived bad job.
i heard south korea is quite undemocratic despite appearances, how accurate is that?
he staked his entire administration on Trump making peace with NK, not really a great idea in hindsight.
They've had roughly equal time as President between the two major parties since they transitioned to democracy. They're far better than Japan in that respect given Japan has had the same party in power for 62 of the past 71 years.
I do know that a staggering number of South Korean presidents have ended up in prison, including the previous one.
Didn't it turn out like two years ago that this guy was a puppet controlled by some shadow organization of 8 crazy rich Korean citizens or did I hit my head really hard recently
I believe the last president was indoctrinated in some crazy matriarchal cult from a young age
That was the last president, Park Geun-hye, she was ousted in 2017.
The scandal involved significant amounts of bribery, ended up with the heir to Samsung being locked up for 10+ years. SK is a strange country, riddled with corruption and basically ran by corporations. Probably not particularly different than the US
They've struggled with dictators up until the 1980s, and while things are much more democratic now, they've still had problems with corruption and such with the insanely capitalist economy of the country.
She also had an approval rating of 4% by the end of the scandal. You done fucked up when only 4% of the people like you.
South Korean culture is filled with bribery and "favors" and exists everywhere. I've seen such with architecture bids given to whomever could buy their client the best toys.
