8 years after airing, internet sensation anime Nichijou finally gets a dub.

Despite earning millions of views on YouTube and Niconico and spouting several fads online, the Nichijou anime was originally a commercial failure due to a limited physical release of the series in Japan choking the ability to capitalize on the popularity. Escalating this, Bandai had acquired the rights to distributing the series in the west around the time, but decided not to after seeing sales of the show in Japan and left the series unable to be dubbed or ran outside of Japan until their contract expired, despite the fanbase being predominantly in the west. Now, Funimation has teamed up with Kyoto Animation to finally give it an English dub!

Looking good so far, my only irk is Nano should call Hakase "Professor", since that is the running joke.

I do agree, but I assume that this was a deliberate choice to prevent word confusion with Principal Shinonome (the man wrestling the deer) to people unfamiliar with the series, and to be more convenient for branding purposes in terms of merchandise.

I'm surprised they're bothering to dub this after so long, considering they already did a dub-less home video release.

This show really is an absolute masterpiece, by the way. The humor isn't for everyone, but if you haven't seen it then you should at least try it.
