I made a Vermintide 2 trailer just to encourage my friends to buy it

I've been playing a lot of Vermintide 2 lately and really enjoy the game, even with the issues it has sometimes.
I was trying to get some friends to start playing, seeing as it's 4 player co-op, but most of them took a look on the steam store and said it looked kinda boring to them.
I had a look on the steam page and I got what they were saying. I was kinda disappointed with how lacklustre the trailers were, when I watch them they really don't inspire me to want to play the game, nor are they reminiscent of how the game actually is. They're cool or unique in their own way for sure, but not exciting enough.
So seeing this, I decided to make my own trailer using just my own gameplay footage that is more action oriented, I hope you guys like it!

Not bad!
Wrote up some advice if you ever feel like making something else like this again:
Lower the camera FOV for non-gameplay shots to make things more focused and a bit more cinematic
Use a gamepad for smooth camera movements, mouse movement's really obvious
Audio mixing is a bit uneven with the narrator character, volume seems to vary between lines
Overall you did a pretty good job at showing the game off, especially since you're limited with ingame footage (I can't imagine the game has accessible camera tools)
it convinced me to download the game again to play so good job!
Thanks buddy, I really appreciate the advice. I'll probably do more in the future and take those tips with me. Audio mixing is not my strong suit, and I had to get the voice lines from a YouTube video cause I've no clue how to extract them from the game itself.
The voice lines were actually from different missions I just took relevant speech and mashed it together to make it sound somewhat like it was intended for the trailer.
I did use the gamepad for only one of those scenes while it was going around the ritual but the sensitivity on the gamepads is weird, it will either be a slow turn, exactly as fast as it was in that scene, or it goes a lot faster, too fast for it to be 'cinematic' lowering the sensitivity in the settings didn't help that much but I admit I just wanted to get it recorded fast, the free camera mod continually crashed my game when I used it.
Hah, thank you, I'm glad it's working. Enjoy!
That was really well made! It's always nice to see people interested in Vermintide, and you captured it quite well in your video.
Hope your friends are convinced, it's a really fun game but nowhere as fun if you play it on your own or with randoms.
I disagree about the gamepad for gameplay shots, it actually feels artificial to me seeing weird sluggish movement in first person cuz that's not how it feels to play. Plus you can show more exciting and impressive stuff with quicker, more precise movement. I wish more games (especially ones primarily sold on PC) would show m+kb gameplay.
Needs a slayer jumping right into patrol
This was my favorite game of 2018. I already have 500 hours in it somehow. Its so good, even with randoms. Give it a chance if youre considering it.
I agree, I meant for when you NEED smooth camera movements, like for non-gameplay shots. Guess I didn’t word it properly.
