Except women (and men) use plastic surgery to help improve their look for the sake of appearing more normal, or to reconstruct their physical features if they were involved in an accident.. Yeah people tend to over do it sometimes and you get freak examples of plastic surgery. But it isn't done for the sake of having sex. Like not everything is about Sex.
Meanwhile these incels are doing it out of the batshit insane idea that their looks alone aren't letting them have sex, and only looks alone will let them have sex.

Lots of women use make up and surgery just to look more attractive in general, a lot of men as well although not as often since it's frowned upon, it's not uncommon to do it for those reasons

This is perhaps one of the best written articles that goes into detail regarding Incel culture. Out of curiousity, I spend quite a bit of time on their forums because I was so fascinated by this. Initially, I thought they might be misunderstood or something along those lines but NOPE. Incel forums are absolute negatice hate echo chambers that spout out some ludicrious sexist theories and outright objecting to any sort of critique. Worst is that they attribute their issues on external factors that are outside of their control.
It is absolutely toxic.

The problem with incels is that they have horrible personalities but are constantly using their physical appearances to explain to themselves and each other why they don't have any friends or can't get a girlfriend. It's your hairline, your weak jaw, your freckles, your frame, your sharp elbows. If you spent a few hours with these guys it'd be obvious why they can't find anyone. They're intolerable assholes, talk about nothing but memes and video games, complain incessantly about how the world is so unfair to them and they're such a victim, and they honestly believe that women are all manipulative bitches of low intelligence who have no other interest in guys other than their property, and career women only attain success by sleeping their way to the top. They learned this from their Uncle Joe, the alcoholic loser whose wife divorced him over some nonsense about his "physical abuse" and the court didn't side with him because they obviously hate men. Many of the rest are guys who have this Hollywood-inspired idea that all they have to do is sit at a bar and buy a woman a drink, wink at her from across the bar, and the next thing they know they'll be banging. These are the same guys who get conned into paying thousands of dollars for pick-up artistry classes.
They're mostly not bad looking guys either, not that that really matters. I know tons of guys who aren't anywhere near what they would call Chads. Some are scrawny, have weak jaws, receding hairlines, they're fat, they're not financially wealthy and they still manage to regularly hook up with good looking women.
Honestly that hardly matters, a lot of the time "incels" and "chad" have rougly similar personalities with the only difference being one side is attractive enough to get away with it.

Then people collectively started realizing that the "nice guy" label was self-applied, that you're not entitled to having sex with someone just because you hover around them and are vaguely supportive at times.
Incels are the guys that missed that realization and went "no, it must be everyone else who is wrong, women are sex dispensers". While the idea of the "friendzone" has a pretty innocent side to it - the term was coined by Joey, from Friends - it gets real fucking worrying when you start to rationalize a throwaway joke from a sitcom into an entire field of pseudoscience, and that's what inceldom is.

That's a false equivalence, you're comparing a group of men, incels, to women as a whole.
Men have been getting surgery before incels were a big thing. People are criticising the motivations of incels to get surgery, that's stemming from their toxic desilutions about bone structure, dating and sex. It's fair to say most women don't get surgery because they're obsessed about getting laid and have the desilution that bone structure is the reason they can't get laid.
Both men and women have faced a social stigma for plastic surgery in modern western society, it's seen as frivolous and unsmart in many circles to care too much about your look. Just look at how much people who get botoxed get shit on. That's why a lot of women in STEMs and other intellectual fields don't wear a lot of makeup, because they wouldnt get taken seriously otherwise.
There's no double standards here, people who shit on women getting surgery probably will shit on men getting surgery too. You should criticise gender roles, and people who judge the personnal beauty choices of others in general, regardless of gender.

I've spent some time in online "self-help" groups back when I was more depressed, and my experience has always been toxic hellholes that could be best described as crabs in a bucket. The moment someone makes serious attempts to better their life, they'll be instantly casted out. It's a race to the bottom mentality to show who's life sucks the most. The moment an incel gets some, I bet that he'll be immediately casted out as a "Chad" and proclaim it's a virgins only club. They'll try making half-hearted attempts to better themselves, like plastic surgery in the OP, to show they are doing something, but it'll never address the root problems.
