It'd be cool if they end up snagging the Jason licensing, though I feel this game is mostly just the same game every game.
Their trailers are always better than their in-game content.
The community manager confirmed that there won't be a map nor a survivor.
Sadly, it also seems like they just got the license for the mask (Fun World) and not the Scream Franchise. Which would explain why the outfit, apart from the mask, is not the same and Sidney Prescott is not in the DLC.
The Scream rights are a mess, so i guess that's okay. MTV was fun to watch until they tried to soft reboot with s3 and fell apart. I'm glad we're not using that mask.
I do kind of hope they have the voice though, bit shocked Sidney isn't involved, although I'm not that big a fan of her.
holy shit they really did only get the rights to the mask from Fun World lmao
I thought we used to have a distinction between chapters and paragraphs.
They called the LeatherFace DLC a Paragraph, since it only had LeatherFace as a killer within the pack.
The Ash Vs. Evil Dead DLC was first mistakenly called a Chapter, later on the devs corrected themselves and called it a Paragraph as well.
but they very clearly called this a Chapter.
So yeah... They haven't really been clear on this topic.
The Dead by Daylight dev are extremely cheap and will cut corners whenever they can. The in-game content is of laughable quality most of the time, recycled assets or slightly modified animation are common thing in the game, and nothing is tweaked to fit the need of perk such as different animation or sound, bug and exploit are commonplace and let's not talk about how many perk are weak because they just don't work properly most of the time, and how about the visual issue? This game is from 2016 yet it still aged like milk.
The licensed characters being low-quality just isn't surprising. I was extremely disappointed to see how bad Laurie Strode & Quentin Smith looked when they were released at the time, and that's because the company have not bought the right to their likeness. The survivors in general doesn't look very good, most of the effort are on the killers which does look threatening but they're still very boring when it comes to animation (even the clown who is the only one with facial animation isn't that exciting visually and their animations are very boring); the map are just not pretty and sometimes bugged like the mount ormond resort map which interact very badly with "aura" (anytime you can see the killer/survivor through walls) where they just don't show properly and are very hard to see.
Cheapness aside, Dead by Daylight's a great game to enjoy althought quite frustrating due to a toxic community of survivors that don't accept that death is inevitable and they can't always escape or that there's a severe skill gap between rank 1 and 20 where at rank 1 the killer get bullied by the survivors and the opposite happens in rank 20.
I wish these type of games leaned more on Friday the 13th the Game's style of play as opposed to this faux-esport shit that Dead by Daylight attempts to be.
I much prefer the social aspects, almost TTT-nature of games like Friday the 13th and SCP: Secret Laboratory. Plus, they have more moving parts to them, as opposed to Dead by Daylight's "generator hook stab" stuff.
What's worse is that some of the released maps are only semi-new, like the new clown map and the plague map.
