In a recent interview Kit spoke of "a huge heave of emotion" after filming the final scenes of Game of Thrones, which he worked on for eight seasons.
In a different interview - the 32-year-old actor told Esquire what it was like filming Jon Snow's final scenes.
He said: "The final day of shooting, I felt fine... I felt fine... I felt fine... Then I went to do my last shots and started hyperventilating a bit.
"Then they called, 'Wrap!' And I just... broke down. It was this onslaught of relief and grief about not being able to do this again."
A documentary about the end of Game of Thrones called The Last Watch was released on Sunday.
It showed Kit crying when he learned about his character's ending.
Understandable. He's been on this show for almost 10 years, he has clearly what he's been doing, and then it's run into the ground by D&D at the very end. Just watch his interviews about the final season; it's pretty obvious he is beyond disappointed in it.
Also saw some pictures from what is supposedly the last day of filming, and there's a couple of Kit being in tears.
He'll pull through, he's doing the right thing by getting help

I really can't imagine the thoughts going through his head at this point. To play a character for so long you know he had to be attached to Jon Snow, only for him to be shafted so hard at the end
I imagine also it might feel like 'what do I do now? What if nobody hires me' etc
Isn't that a common issue with TV actors after a long-running series? Like, go to ANY huge series and ask yourself what the people who were on that show are doing now. More often than not the answer will be "nothing, because they couldn't get a decent role after that series ended". People talk about the Seinfeld Curse but I think it applies to more than just Seinfeld.
Might sound like a clique - But I feel as if working as an actor or actress can be pretty depressing near the end.
You work with, hangout with, and are around all these amazing people, right. The show ends and all that ends as well, they move on to other shows/productions and eventually you find yourself working on something new with new people starting all over again.
It's kinda like when you are used to living in a house full of people and friends. Always something going on, eventually friends and people move on, do their own things, and the house gets more empty. There is kinda a void and it lingers for a bit. Doesn't mean it is the end of the world or anything, but you feel sad about it for a little while.
Sadly true, happens to a lot of actors. I'm just seriously hoping a lot of the GoT actors get picked up in the future because they're all great (when the writing is there to support it).
Kit nailed his role with Jon, I'm damn well hoping we see more of him in the future once he's back on track.
Jesus, both Kit and Emilia look like they're in disbelief.
D&D didn't really tell them their characters relationship would be a tragedy, Emilia didn't even know Dany was gonna go crazy until after Season 7 had finished filming.
Emilia Clark also had a really rough post-shooting grieving stage that she talked about.
More often that's a problem for character actors. I think Kit Harington will be fine
mark your spoilers in that tweet dude, i'm halfway through got but i read that spoiler. i thought this thread was safe because everyone else was marking their spoilers but apparently not
Honestly dude why the fuck would you post a tweet with an unmarked spoiler like that. God damn it man just because the thread is about Kit doesn't mean you should post unmarked spoilers. You even used spoiler tags for the rest of your post. Thanks a lot asshole.
I wish Kit well and hope he gets more well deserved roles. Would love to see him and other GoT actors more.
Honestly I can totally get it. It's like these people are gone forever in a way.
Hell, even though Mass Effect 3 didn't end as strong as it should've, I felt so sad for a few days knowing that that was the end. I can't imagine how it would feel to basically lose/end a character that is an extension of your personality at that point.
Hey pals, sorry about that. I didn't mean to put the spoiler in the post. When I pasted the link to the tweet I was really only considering the content of the video which doesn't tell you anything, not the caption that comes along with it. Again, apologies.
Glad he''s reached out for help. It can be a tough thing realizing you need help in the first place.
Now combine that with a ridiculous career trajectory, considering how GoT let him skyrocket in fame, and it's a recipe for disaster.
Glad to hear he's getting help, but lets not jump to conclusions that this is GoT related just because he was emotional during the wrap.
Agreed. I Think it has to do with just more than the show. The show is a big part of it I think though.
I've been following the show since SE1.
It is what lead me to reading the books, which the books are pretty good. I have not finished all of them but I really enjoyed reading the ones I've had.
The way they ended the show ended is downright depressing and the last season they gave us was honestly utter garbage. Yes, I enjoyed the story but it was so fucking rushed you could tell. The fact of the matter is we waited 2 years for what they gave us. It honestly didn't do the show justice.
I imagine it feel similarly to finishing college and just being out there, having to figure out what's next
