I'm really torn between getting it on release and waiting for the PC version. The Yakuza ports really spoiled me as to how good those games feel at a locked 60.
If they're porting the games chronologically as they seem to be (At first, I thought they'd be going for porting every game built on the Ryu ga Gotoku 5 - Hokuto ga Gotoku, but then Kiwami 2 went to PC out of the blue with it's beefy Dragon Engine), it could be a very long wait, plus we have yet to know if Ryu ga Gotoku 3, 4 & 5 [PS4] will be going international.
Speaking for myself, the list of reasons to own a PlayStation 4 has grown to about three dozen (Gravity Dash/Rush, Tearaway Unfolded, Shadow of the Colossus, Uncharted Collection with 5 & Lost Legacy, I seriously can't keep track), so I'll be taking the opportunity to fetch the PlayStation 4 version, but I do know Yakuza 6 & maybe Kiwami 2 definitely have had their struggle maintaining 30fps with their ragdolls, objects & ludicrous particles, so I wouldn't blame you for awaiting a PC port (Especially with the keen community modding, music restoration/replacement & more the PC ports have been receiving).
I'm really glad this game is still getting a western release, it was pulled from Japanese storefronts outright after one of the actors was caught with drugs.

Apparently drugs are a really big deal in Japan, enough to basically ruin your career forever if you're a celebrity.
It's not the first time the series was met with that. One of Ryu ga Gotoku 4/Yakuza 4's playable character performers was accused of the same thing. Although according to what I'm largely privy to, they tested negative unlike in JUDGE EYES case, but they left the industry altogether due to the kerfuffle (Illegal substance abuse is taken very strongly in Japan, that much I know). I believe this had resulted in return appearances even as soon as Ryu ga Gotoku 5/Yakuza 5 to not occur (Although the character was granted mentioning), and their likeness & voice have been replaced by someone else for the PlayStation 4 re-release.
The whole genre of "walk around as a completely regular looking dude in a completely regular ass place and kick everyone's asses" is a pretty interesting one.
I didn't know what I expected, but that looks fuckin' gorgeous. It gives me some God Hand vibes, or maybe that's just me.
While not mechanically the same, but for something similarly over the top like God Hand, their Fist of the North Star spinoff is one of the best entries in the series. It also introduces stuff that's usually found in crazier character action games like juggling which is a first for the RGG series.

It certainly got one of the best reveals (Just as they had introduced their 'New Dragon' for Project: Shin Ryu ga Gotoku/Like a New Dragon):

What more context do you need?

There's no karaoke in this game so I see no real reason to buy it.
