https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/may/30/john-bolton-present-evidence-next-week-iran-backed-gulf-attacks Evidence that Iran has been behind recent attacks on oil tankers and pipelines in the Gulf is likely to be presented to the UN Security Council as early as next week, John Bolton, the US national security adviser, has revealed. Four oil tankers off the United Arab Emirates suffered damage this month from explosions, which Bolton said were Iranian naval mines. He also disclosed a previously unknown attempt to attack the Saudi oil port of Yanbu. Bolton also extended Iranian responsibility for the war in Yemen by saying Iran should be held accountable for the drone attacks on civilian and military airports, oil installations and shipping in the Red Sea being undertaken by Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
I don't believe it, but let's say Iran DID do this Did anyone die? Was anyone even hurt? What happened amounted to what is essentially a few fender benders but for ships. Against a country that's committing genocide via starvation. Should fuckin' pat them on the back, not try to go to war
The freedom gas was hurt, don't you care about that you communist muslim.
And Iraq have weapons of mass destruction.
I was going to say, the UN members are going to be asking if they have deja vu.

"They stole my lunch money!" John McFlusterpants yells, his little grandpa mustache twitching as he holds up a crude drawing of some aluminum tubes. "No John, Iran is a country, we've already been through this," an aide says as they try to guide him off stage.
You hypocritical piece of shit.
How else is Raytheon going to make money
War is the only thing that could salvage Trump's approval rating. Voters love war. Look what they did for George W's approval ratings. That's a big part of the reason Trump is so desperate to go to war. It might win him the next election.
I guess you gotta keep the defense industry's corporate welfare checks coming somehow
What exactly makes Americans so excited at the idea of pissing away taxpayer money and waste citizen's lives to unleash havoc on some random country in the other side of the world? This is fucking mental.
What is even our problem with Iran? Why do Republicans seem to have such a hard-on for it? Unless I'm missing something, all I can see is that Israel hates them but that they're otherwise minding their own business despite getting constant flak.
It's true in Russia as well. Putin's approval ratings were faltering until he annexed Crimea. The US and Russia share more ugly elements to their culture than either likes to admit.
It makes them feel like they're asserting their dominance and many Americans - particularly Republican voters - are only a few marginal layers of sapience above the bestial "alpha wolf" mentality. In other words: to feed idiots' egos.
Nationalism disguised as Patriotism.
Its basically the same as their hatred for Cuba, we pretty much controlled it before their current government.
Actual decades of GOP warmongering under the guise of Patriotism and the eternal call to Defend Our Nation Mostly for the sake of securing consistent paychecks for the defense industry It's kind of a long term marketing campaign for War™: Terrible But Necessary For Our Defense!™
There's a variety of options you can pick from: Current Islamic government overthrew the government we help subversively establish (the Shah) and destroyed all foreign control (American) over Iranian interests The US is allied to Saudi Arabia, which is Arab and Sunni and the regional power opposing Iran which is Persian and Shia Oil is labelled as a security concern of the US due to it being critical to our economy, and so any oil power that is not friendly to us automatically is a security concern. Even if they don't export oil to us, they can influence the global markets. Iran, having an Islamic-centric government, is heavily opposed to the existence of Israel, a nation the US has staunchly backed for decades Iran is, of course, heavily Islamic and Islamic terrorism has scarred the American psyche so they must be the baddies, of course.
When you think of it, there is a generation of kids who have lived in a country that hasn't been in a time of peace since 2001.
