The German tabloid newspaper Bild has been one of the most vocal supporters of the protests, even publishing a cut-out kippah for readers to download and print.
I think that's a lovely idea and would show solidarity against persecution even with those who aren't jewish or even theistic.

Most of them use clips called yarmulke clips, sometimes velcro-like strips you can attach with an adhesive surface on them

To use the term literally, yes. But as a social issue that people criticize, no.
When people condemn cultural appropriation, its when people are selfishly taking a part of a culture they do not belong to, and handling it carelessly; especially so when said culture is condemned for that part, too. An example I saw from a black girl of this "especially" part is that its less "white people can't wear dreads because they're white and that's that," but a heavy part of it is "black people are shunned for wearing dreads and then white people just wear them."
In this context, it's entirely different. It's not people going "hey, this kippah thing looks pretty neat! I'm gonna start wearing one." It's people seeing their Jewish fellow people being faced with oppression, and then marking yourself with something distinctly Jewish in solidarity.
Funny enough, this very concept happened with the Christchurch Shooting.

Bild has a long history of being pretty shit as well, but they happen to not be antisemitic.
While I understand that the double standard on how two groups of people of a certain race get treated for wearing dreadlocks is frustrating as hell, I still don't really see how white people wearing dreadlocks would be an issue unless they were the same sort of people who treat black people like shit.
