I don't want my music and podcasts in separate apps. Also, pretty shocked that it is going to happen next Monday.
Good.

End of an era
The big question.
Are they finally going to let users use their iPhones, iPads or iPods as fucking mass storage devices now? iTunes iirc is the only way(plus some third party apps and jailbreaking) is the only way to get it working and as a previous iPhone SE user, I loved the hardware, but holy hell they needed to be taught a lesson on how to handle storage when plugged into your PC.
Every time I had to boot up iTunes I was met with nothing but issues. Streaming music was the only alternative vs storing it.
I don't think I ever enjoyed the iTunes software, even when it was hot shit and I used it all the the time back in the day.
Why seperate them out?
What the fuck am I supposed to do to my iPod photo?
i assume either the replacement aps for itunes will still function for older devices, or you'll still be able to use old versions of itunes to manage them.
maybe they'll support flac now oh wait that'll still never happen
So can I still use it to listen to music or what? I don't really know what else to use that serves the same function.
I don't like iTunes, but i find it to still be the most convenient way to management my offline music library.
Every company seems to be merging functionalities into centralized apps to offer stronger and more versatile platforms.
iTunes tried to do it, but it's a mess of features that clog up and slow down the main reason to use it in the first place.
Apple's solution? Let's split everything up in chunks! Courage.
I understand why they'd kill iTunes but why can't they just remake it from scratch and not make it shit? It's as they remade every function from scratch but are releasing them into individual things instead of bringing them back together properly. I don't get it.

MusicBee is my goto music/podcast player of choice now
My father had spent YEARS managing his iTunes library

Does apple music at least have every single itunes song ever?
No, which is the part that has me worried. My understanding is that may just be essentially moving the itunes platform over to Apple Music as a whole? As in you can still purchase music on there I presume.
I don't see why not. Apple would be losing a significant business if they closed their music store
I doubt the record industry would appreciate it either lol
Buy an iPhone, obviously.
Oh no, my three seasons of Celebrity Deathmatch will forever be gone...
Strange move for Apple? Pissing away an iconic name like that . In fact, I was surprised back when I first saw the separate app "Apple Music".
Just another reminder why I'm not buying another Apple product until they get Steve Jobs back.
I only kept itunes to put things on my old ass ipod, how will I even get music on it now?
Just go back in time and tell Steve Jobs that fruit doesn't cure cancer.
foobar
Doesn't matter, I'm still going to be getting dozens of itunes phishing scams every day for the next 15 years, even though I don't own a single Apple product.
Winamp, I kid you not, works better with classic iPods than iTunes.
What kind of fucking hellworld have we built for ourselves on this planet
Plex. It's free* and works with movies/shows too.
*$5 to unlock streaming on mobile apps if you want, which is definitely worth it
