Call Of Duty is a (mostly) annual FPS gaming series centering on placing the player in historical, modern and futuristic locations where stuff blows up, the world is pushed to the brink of destruction, and the player personally kills the bad guys.
The latest installment is Modern Warfare. No not CoD4, no not the remastered version, a new game that is also called Modern Warfare, essentially a remake with a new story that places you in a modern day world that has stuff blowing up again. Oh, and Captain Price is back again.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4: Blackout - "Where we droppin, Reznov?"
Just got Blops 4 from the humble bundle, was hoping to download just the BR mode, like you could in steams cod games, you could download mp or sp but nope, I gotta download a whole 115GB or whatever, so will hopefully get to try blops next year
I like the look of what they're doing, but if the game has any lootboxes or aggressive engagement cycles then I am completely uninterested.

Funny. Tittle of the video clearly says New Engine, yet in the actual video they calling it "Radicaly retooled".
Not that i ever trusted DF in the first place, but this is just blatant.
Can't get used to the new VA for Price, just feels kind of off.
What's wrong with digital foundry?
There's nothing wrong with DF
Yeah, I'd be surprised if It didn't. But we both know that ain't going to happen.
I wonder how MP is even going to work on on this. I can only hope for no specialists, or at least none of that recharging free kill nonsense. Never been a fan of that.
considering black ops 4 has some of the worst of that, and people are still buying into it, no doubt its going to be here as well
I often find them to be straight up shilling under the giuse of being independent entity. This CoD's coverage at this point is just an extension of Activision's marketing compaign.
I just got Cod: 4 Remastered. It's actually not that bad! I'm enjoying it
Campaign is fine. It's what they did to the multiplayer that pisses fans off.
The loot boxes? Yeah they suck but the regular MP is fine to me?
More likely than not it's a mix of at least some amount of uncompressed assets and all the various full motion videos in the game. There's technically a training mode with a barebones "story" tying shit together after all.
Game looks pretty nice, we'll have to see how bad the microtransactions are going to be though, because they're obviously going to be in the game, they're dropping the season pass for fuck sake, if that doesn't indicate guaranteed microtransactions, nothing does.
Lol no
Them telling us small details on how IW uses CI for testing performance on nightly builds and how they tackle in-development optimization before the actual final optimization push isn't really "marketing" tho.
They are tech nerds and that's how you should tackle their content, they're not game reviewers really, and I love their content for that.
While I do like blops 4 and also hate some aspects of it (STOP SHOOTING ME IN THE FOOT AND MELEEING ME YOU FUCKS), I hope they go to a more modern (hehe) mw2 approach.
Would love it if it felt like mw2 did coming from mw1
People shit on mw2, but I fucking loved it.
people shat on it at the time, but i think most people will agree with the fact that mw2's multiplayer was just stupid fun.
Shit was "opish" from time to time, like, people complained about stopping power although I didn't find it that amazing, but they neglected stuff like ninja classes with cold blooded.
Still remember doing literal ghilied up shit in Estate. People passing by me and not seeing me at all, then getting up and shooting them in the back.
There was another time when I layed down prone with a guy staring at me, and not knowing if I was a dead body or someone standing still on the floor. I just got up and ran
Fun fun times. Best times had tbh
My original cod4 disk is fucked, but at least I've still got the code so would it work if I got a copy of the game through alternative means
...yes? Yes i distrust them all. When you are being invited to events like this, you are being given a material that will bring clicks and traffic to your website/channel. They will not going to sue you if you will be too honest about your impressions, of course, but they sure will not invite you next time. Those rules, although not being cemented anywhere, are obvious and well undesrtood in the industry. Thus, when it comes to recieving the information from people who have been given any material by the official company, i tend to look at it with great deal of scepticism.
How about the fact that their tittle is straight up misleading? They said that this CoD have NEW ENGINE in the tittle, yet in the actual video they called it "retooled" and "enhanced". That video have a goal of painting the newest CoD in a postivie light, regardless if it deserves it.
Wasn't there a sort of mini glitch where if you kept switching weapons there would be no gun actively in your hands and your model kinda looked almost unmoving, so you would look like a corpse without even having to ghille up?
Please give examples of DF being dishonest.
Okay, it's one thing to not trust CoD or Activision, sure, but finding Digital Foundry dishonest and giving them shit for looking at a game in a positive light that just got revealed where the most negative buzz so far are qualms about the campaign's alleged violence and Activision's inevitable microtransactions? DF just cite what devs say about their games and then do tech analysis when they come out to inform potential buyers of what they're in for; they don't actually review these games typically, keeping that for specific older titles and new hardware. You're worked up a bit much on the specifics of the video title and spreading an all-encompassing cynicism of complaining about the tech equivalent of "before you buy".
don't quite remember, but if you did keep on switching, your model would switch to an odd position and stay in it motionless yes

So specialists are out, instead they're condensing customization to a set of pre-made characters you can then tweak the look of but it doesn't actually affect gameplay. Guess that means no Opfor vs. TF141 or so forth, but Specialists were a really obnoxious jump onto the hero shooter bandwagon that honestly didn't pay off that well, so eh. Hopefully something like the Ghille suit isn't an edition pre-order bonus exclusive kind of shit.
Uhm, i hate to repeat myself for the third time but: tittle vs actual content in the viddeo in question. DF defenders in this thread seem to totally ignore that for some reason.
But okay, here's another one: Horizon Zero Dawn. When the game first come out, it had noticable problems when geometry was popping up right in front of you if you traverse too quickly. I had this issue on my regular PS4. It was fixed in patches later. DF made their video on HZD before any patches and they have been praising HZD's streaming quality especially hard. Funniest thing was that when they've been talking about it, they were walking very slow almost as if trying not to stress streaming. I can't say that they were actively trying to cover up the real issue, intension is hard to prove. But a few months later DF made a video about HZD's engine - the inside look of it, from the editor. That was an odd freindly gesture on the part of Developer, especially since that was like world exclusive.
OK, and?
