• What I think about the NPCs in RUST

Hello, I have played 40 hours right now at the game and I have a lot of thoughts about it that I would like to tell you. I don't like the fact that there are NPCs in the game. Why? Because this feels like an offline game where you don't fight against other humans but bots, it's like Minecraft or Counter-Strike Series games like. And, even, when I see that guy walking in his anti radiation rubberized clothing, this is not another player that you can meet, you cannot talk to him, you cannot interact, he's basically a bot. If you kill him, you can't even take his pistol whereas he has one, you cannoot take his combinasion, you can take just 5 glow sticks, I don't see the logic there. This gives me the impression of a dead game even if there are human players in the map. I have also discovered that there were helicopters and that they were piloted by NPCs aswell... I always thought that this was piloted by other human players, this feeling is also makes me think of a degrading game. It feels fake, I have a such impression of the overall of the game. I'm not telling you that I don't like the game, but these NPCs makes me thinking of the game a worse impression of making the game like a real survival thing where you have to fight against other human players like in PUBG for example. You will not meet NPCs in PUBG. Even the bandits, they're holding AK's, if you try to kill them, they kill you (happened to my two teammates, not me), I find this not realistic aswell, I even think that if you kill one, you cannot recuperate the AK neither, this feels fake. I have also played on a 500 players server alone last night and I have met an NPC, I thought that this was another player, this gave me some fear, but nope, that was just a random NPC... Well. I would like to suggest to remove the NPCs and let the helicopter to other players like I was believing it was, because I have the impression that somebody lied to me. I really want to see the NPCs disappearing from this game.
The use of NPC's are a mere deterrent or to slow down progression of players. Depending on the Tier of loot you are attempting to gain, the NPC will also have the higher or lower ability to guard against you getting that loot. If NPC's were not in game you would be hearing constant "How'd he get an AK so fast" and the balance of gaining higher tier loot would be at anyone's access.
Well... I probably understand. But, still, I gave my opinion.
Which you are entitled, but you should probably ask "why" before you just say "change". Keep in mind, AI is being worked on. In reality the AI are really just getting on board and are still being tweeked.
I somewhat agree I would like to see a smarter AI and Groups of AI Bots Roaming the Streets Random Hunters looking for Food out in the wilderness with bow's fisherman roaming the beaches even if they are set to "peacekeeper" so that if you attack they retaliate and some like the groups walking the roads instantly hostile it also open's Rust up to the ability to "Quest" not so much for Rewards but for achievements and sort of distraction from the normal MO
Nah, I want to see them completely disappeaded... I mean, we're not in Minecraft playing offline. This is a multiplayer game... I don't think that the NPCs have their place in that game...
Are you saying you play multiplayer Minecraft with mob spawns disabled? Because that's, uhhh, special.
They ruined it when they took the zombies out....... It needs MORE NPC's,, groups of "hunter" scientists that roam the map, hunting the players who take potshots at NPC's and don't finish the job.... take the player back to a lab, cut bits off, experiment...... player escapes...... liven the shit up a bit.... sort out road tracking logic for the APC instead of dicking about with horses and electricity........... Map wide siren... then out comes the choppers & APC cutting up anyone not hidden...
No, I play minecraft, sometimes during a short period of time, offline, then I am getting used. But I would like the saùe experience except that the NPCs are the Human Players. I was thinking that the bandit camp and the stores were managed by other Human Players and not bots, I was disappointed when I have discovered that, and, enev with the helicopter story... Damn.
Again, you guys are spewing on about something that won’t change. As well, probably most weren’t here before they were in and you have no clue as to why they were implemented
