Excuse me what? Is this for real?
Is this a fucking dream?
Oh god, my fucking childhood.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-
Oh boy I know it's just grabbing at my nostalgia but damn it it works.
I wonder how they're going to redo the graphic style? Will it be more cel-shaded and look more like the cartoon? Will it stay true to the PS2's basic shaders? Will it be a hybrid or completely new style?
Also is Clancy Brown actually going to be in a Spongebob game for once
Want to join forces in a brand new multiplayer mode?
Whoa nelly.
As someone who played this as a kid, I am immensely happy to see this game get the appreciation it deserves. Can't wait to see more.
Wonder how they'll remaster this:

It's not done by Heavy Iron Studios, and the new dev behind it, Purple Lamp Studios, don't seem to have a whole lot on their resume yet, BUT...
HOLY MOTHER OF FUCK I HAVE BEEN WANTING THIS FOR YEARS, I NEVER THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD COME.
I wonder if they are going to revisit any of the scrapped materials from the concept art you could unlock in game.

regardless im hyped because this shit was my childhood
Judging by their resume I'm willing to bet they are going to handle the Switch and PC ports, while THQN are developing the game inhouse.
Articles on the game have stated that they're the devs behind it apparently, not THQ.

Coming to PC, so prepare to gamble on whether to be hyped, or disappointed that it's an EGS exclusive.
I'll probably opt for the Switch port if it's the latter.
holy shit i think almost all of my worries have been shot down, this could very well be everything i wanted it to be and more
One of my favorite games from childhood, hopefully the remaster turns out well.
I don't think THQ Nordic would do that.
Yes, Metro Exodus and Satisfactory are exclusives, but the former was all on Deep Silver and IIRC the developers of the latter made the deal before they were even acquired.
Yep, the game is gonna be on Steam. Steam page went up.
Also system requirements seem really lenient.

This honestly makes it look like the team really cares. Yeah, it's a dumb gag, but when they seem to be having this much fun with the store page, you can tell they care.
Man, I am actually so hyped for everything THQ has to offer in the coming years. They've got an absurd amount of remasters in the works, and many of my favourite IP's from when I was younger. I 100% expect a Destroy All Humans! 1+2 announcement sometime soon, which is my #1 most looked forward to remaster.
Can anyone give me any kind of context for this game?
Gotta say, my childhood was spent in other pursuits and I've only heard this game's name a couple of times in recent years, but I wanted to know what's all the fuss about.
Is it perhaps the same deal as the Simpsons: Hit & Run series?
THQ Nordic are fucking mad lads, I love them.
Pretty impressed by the remastered graphics so far, the characters look extremely good so far. I can't wait for more to be shown.
Even the detail of certain textures like Spongebob's pants are incredible.
It's a collectathon released well after the heyday of the collectathon, but it does the concept really fucking well. The writing is also top notch and feels like it's out of the actual show, which was rare for licensed games at the time.
Plus it also helps that it's all of the above on top of being associated with the most beloved cartoon of this generation.
It's also worth pointing out that it is a game designed around it's gameplay, not around it's themes.
In most licensed games it's the opposite, but in BFBB the gameplay is the focus focus and you can feel that with the level layout n such. The scenario and writing are the icing on top.
Well, I gotta say, as someone who never played it (or I was too young to remember cause I remember some gameplay from a spongebob game I just can't find), the way THQ has been treating it so far with the new content, and the I'm Ready shit, is really starting to sell me on this game.
