Important Minecraft Forum Archive Announcement Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/bu9s6g/many_curse_networks_forums_are_shutting_down/ I'm amazed this doesn't seem to have been mentioned anywhere. I only found out due to a page header while trying to find some old content. Honest to god I was under the impression that the forums were still insanely active what with being the main forums for MC and whatnot. I don't think there's really anything else like this on the net.
Beat us to it, fuck
https://b.catgirlsare.sexy/-oU0.png guess that plan's out the window
Oh yeah. Look at those people who think it's okay to shut down some of the biggest forums in the world despite a very active community. I've never seen that before!
Now is our chance! Quick! Make a subforum and get them to come over in KO!!!
wouldn't this mean that Facepunch is older AND died after the Minecraft forums? Damn FP, you are hardy
thanks, wikia :/
Really unfortunate to hear, are other curse related things such as gamepedia safe at the moment?
What a terrible time to close it minecraft is hitting a huge popularity surge again, great idea to close down the main forum for it lol https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107138/6358e396-9bea-4ce6-b2b4-237ad24f927c/image.png also this post didnt age well lmfao
That's what happens when you allow one company (fandom/wikia) to buy its main competitor (curse/gamepedia), they'll cripple and reduce the thing they are known for until they become less relevant than their main brand. They've been shutting down wikis on both gamepedia and wikia/fandom whenever there are two wikis for the same game, whichever is less popular (even if there is activity both of them).
Butbutbutbut Reddit!!1!
God wikia is fucking trash
Why devs sold out and outsourced to Curse is beyond me. Amazon's decision to sell to Wikia is truly baffling. Wikia actually existing is quite honestly the most unfathomable of all.
Curse has only been owned by twitch/amazon for 2? years, and the curse media/gamepedia branch got sold to fandom/wikia at the end of last year.
curse has always been pretty bad even prior to the twitch acquisition
