i stopped playing rust but recently tried getting back into it but when i tried to play it as it was loading up. rust is not responding so i left it for 30 secs then it loaded the menu where you pick your server to plat etc. So i pick a server to play while it loading into the server not responding so i leave it for 5 min still not responding restart rust does same thing deleted rust and reinstalled rust same problem. deleted again and install on my other HDD still same problem. I have just upgraded my ram so i dont think it woud be ram is the issue
Could you please post your system specs? CPU, GPU, RAM.
Here's what I'd like you to do to test and see if we can't pinpoint what's happening. I'm not suggesting you should have to do these things all the time, or that they're normal, but it's to try and figure out what's going wrong.
First, make sure you have web browsers closed. They can gobble up RAM like nobody's business.
Second, restart (you don't have to shut down and keep off, but restart) Discord, Telegram, or other chat programs. The reason is that these programs don't usually use too much memory, but if you're in busy groups that can pile up, especially if photos or videos get posted a lot (text is pretty small). Restarting flushes out caches of backlogs that you probably don't care about anyway and can also catch any possible memory leaks. Note: You don't have to restart Steam or Steam friends, unless it's a last resort or you had ridiculous numbers of chat tabs open or something.
Third, open Rust up and leave it on the server list and then just... go away for 15 minutes, go make yourself a sandwich or something. If Rust hasn't frozen up just from loading the servers list, try joining a server. Choose a smaller, lower-population server if possible, especially if you usually choose larger-population servers.
okay thank you for trying to help i will do this later when i get home and i will reply then about the resuts
