So having played 2186 hours on rust over the years, i'm finding the game as a casual player to almost be a complete waste of time. Go back to a couple of years ago, I was a DJ and music producer for 11 years and Rust was literally my go to when not busy. I even lost a couple of contracts due to spending time on the game rather than doing my work lol. But it was addictive. The grind, the raids, the gains. The lows. Its part of any survival. Fast forward to today, i now have a "proper" job, working ridiculous hours which has turned me into a casual gamer. Problem is, with the new raiding system its almost pointless. Ok, its great for Vanilla solo players, but those servers are few and far between. I have some nice servers with good communities that I favourite and connect frequently. Lets go to last night. Fridays are a late starter for me so I thought id get stuck rite in from the moment the update was pushed. 10pm I was on a server, farming, getting everything i needed. Built a nice base. Even had a couple of turrets. Came off at 2am. 9am and someone has blown through my doors, my ladder hatches, placed ladders not up walls, but hanging half and half through the ladder hatch frames and blown through the rest of my doors at the top of the base. so in 7 hours, 4 hours work was for nothing. I had a break from this game and refound my passion during some annual leave. It has been the same ever since. I don't get the logic behind this new raiding system. OK, if your a solo player it makes it easier but it also makes it to easy for zergs or any group at that matter. Please please PLEASE can we have a revise of this system or even a complete wipe of it. Rust for casual gamers is pointless now.
