I fucking love these guys.
I am so pumped
My only hope is that there is some kind of recap because I have always wanted to play Baldur's Gate, but I just couldn't get into it due to the retro mechanics, etc.
If you really wanna see the story, companions and stuff, the enhanced edition of BG2 (and probably 1, idk I don't have it) has a story mode option where your party can't die. It basically makes it so you only have to worry about the dialogue, exploration and figuring out where to go. You might need a magic weapon to kill some enemies idk but otherwise it works good if you don't like the combat or have troubles with it, I don't blame you either way lol. I'd say its totally worth playing through even if you basically remove the combat, though you might not get quite as attached to your companions when you aren't wanting to let Keldorn bone you cause his dispel magic and truesight shit are saving you every 2 seconds. Combat imo is easily the biggest barrier of entry cause its so fucking hard at times, but everything else I'd say is very feasible to get into even today. I only first played BG back in 2017, and before that all I had ever played was Fallout 1 in like 2014 or '15 idr.
That sounds interesting for sure. I'm excited about Larian doing this because the combat in both Original Sin games was sooo good and so enjoyable.
