PLEASE help - Rust crashing instantly at menu after update
1 replies, posted
Hi guys,
So basically, I have recently been completely unable to play Rust due to very long load times and, once in a server, awful performance. My HDD was definitely the issue, as it's causing me a bunch of problems lately. So, yesterday I go and get an SSD, get it all set up, try to play today and see there's an update. Since this update, within seconds of loading Rust either during the initial loading screen or at the main menu, the game crashes. Just a straight close, no error, with the only warning being a slight stutter right before it happens. It's not the SSD, as I've tried moving my install folder and it still happens on both drives, plus I have tested other games now on my SSD and they all run totally fine. I've also reinstalled Rust, twice, and I'm opted-out of the Steam Beta stuff, as I saw that's caused problems in the past. I am getting pretty frustrated with this as the main reason I got a new SSD was so I could actually play Rust, and now this update appears to have shafted me. Is anyone else experiencing this since the update? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm tearing my hair out here.
