An unidentified state actor has been blamed for attacks on four oil tankers in the Gulf last month, according to an inconclusive inquiry that stopped short of explicitly pointing the finger at Iran.
The initial findings showed it was “highly likely” that four limpet mines, which are magnetically attached to a ship’s hull under the waterline, were used in the attacks. The report said they had been placed by trained divers deployed from fast boats. The mines were placed soon after the ships were anchored.
“We believe the responsibility for this attack lies on the shoulders of Iran,” Saudi Arabia’s UN ambassador, Abdallah al-Mouallimi, said after the briefing. Saudi Arabia maintains that the attacks affect the safety of international navigation and the security of world oil supplies, requiring a response from the security council.
Expect an false flag attack or the next major terror attack on the western world be used to push the simple common folk to support this pointless, illegal war on Iran.
Is it already that time again for another war?
I can't see what Iran would gain from such a thing, thus the scepticism.
Now, the Saudis I can see. A war would remove a geopolitical rival, and drive up slumping oil prices.
Ya they state that the mines were placed in such a way as to cause damage but not sink the vessel, something that you'd think iran wouldn't care about doing given their repeated claims to be able to sink any vessel in the area.
Took out Iraq, took out Afghanistan. Obviously if we get Iran, we get a three-in-a-row score
One does wonder how long it would take for someone to suggest building a big american highway from baghdad to kabul on our newly acquired land ally
Haven't even finished our last one...
