If one is the change Christianity as a whole, one has to convince them of Jesus' other messages of tolerance of their fellow man, and the consequences of doing unto others poorly. Should that not work, then we should not overturn the upper echelons through violence, but to accept the gifts of their titles as we move on through our lives. One day we will have a new sect of priests and priestesses, and through the teachings of love and acceptance will Christianity be better than it has in many years. Romans was written by a different person. Same with Leviticus. It's much easier to be a tolerant Christian when you accept that the Bible is not inerrant nor is a cohesive story, and focus on the gospels above all else. Progressive Christianity generally supplants the worst parts of the bible with social justice inspired by Jesus's teachings, and that is a good thing in my view.
