I think this and Cyberpunk are the only games that have gotten me this excited in a long time. I cannot wait.

Actually it's a Prowler it seems, but he has purple projectiles now which he didn't in the multiplayer iirc.

That, and the seemingly new HUD design I'm also kinda iffy on. This new HUD just feels a lot more noisy to me compared to the HUD they showed at the Quake Con gameplay presentation back in 2018.
why is doom slayer making pain sounds?
The game gives off a remarkably old school feel, considerably more so than DOOM 2016. It has the feel of a fucking classic doom megawad that they then reskinned to have modern graphics almost.
Actually now that you mention it, what happened to that HUD? it was DOOM (2016)'s HUD but with some added color to contrast the different values a bit but whatever the hell they did on this one is just too noisy.
I hope you can turn off the grunt noises because he sounds like Serious Sam and that's fucking stupid.
Well unlike a lot of other shit that can go wrong with a triple A game a noisy hud is comparably SUPER easy to fix.
I wouldn't be surprised if there were day 1 hud mods that make it look like the older presented hud.
And more than likely mods to make it look like the vanilla doom hud also.
Honestly it's probably for the sake of Switch / mobile streaming. Easier to see on small screens, and less performance intensive than having an "in-universe" HUD graphic to deal with.

Perhaps the release of Doom Eternal will spontaneously create a second permanent birthday for everyone on the planet, and from that point onwards that second birthday would always have to be celebrated with a cacodemon cake.
I can only assume that Battlemode teaser is early footage because the HUD is really in your face when it does not need to be and the animations horribly stiff, like they're sliding around when walking backwards and that, it looks awful, the gamemode itself seems interesting but I hope Invasion is still in, I don't mind a dedicated mode to this but the idea of it being the campaign where the invasions take place sounded better.
For a game that prides itself not focusing on the story a whole lot, I sure am intrigued by all the story tidbits we do get
