i switched to a display port monitor sometime last year and ever since have had a really annoying issue where it stays blank on boot or i get my gpu bios and the windows loading screen then it goes blank. maybe 1/4 times it doesnt do this and one of nvidia's driver updates fixed it for a while but recently its been really bad, anyone know a permanent fix for this? turning the monitor off and back on at the brick or wall works for that cycle but its driving me mad
Get a new cable, and replace the old, make sure you vacuum the port just to make sure its clean, maybe dab it a little with some rubbing alcohol
If that doesn't work, check monitor settings and see if there is anything regarding 'sleep' or 'power' when off
If absolutely nothing else works, unplug the computer, cycle power for 30 seconds to discharge, and take the GPU out entirely, inspect the ports and reseat it comfortably inside. Try it again.

I use this. Bad cables exist but I found this to be exceedingly decent on the topic of "not fucking with my shit for no reason".
I've had a bad SATA cable before, which straight up disconnected my SSD.
