So which one of BJ's daughters in Wolfenstein: Youngblood are are Keen's (x2) ancestor?
The brown-haired one.

I kind of like the animation style. I think the saturday-morning cartoon aesthetic works for Keen, and I'm fine with using a modern SatAM cartoon style instead of a retro SatAM style. Going down a generation and adding a twin sister is a good idea. Everything else about it can go die in a fire. The sheer audacity of these people, to introduce the game as a "free-to-play mobile game", before even rolling the trailer. And I really don't get the gameplay, it seems like just a paper-thin excuse for an energy system and utx.
So is this gonna be a yearly tradition now? Every year, some game publisher digs up the corpse of a dead IP and parades it around in the form of a F2P mobile game? We're up to two E3's so far, by my count. There's this, and then last year's mockery of Command and Conquer brought to you by EA. I wonder what's on the table for 2020. Is Activision gonna exhume Police Quest and... fuck, Vivendi already did this a decade ago, five months before merging with Activision? I didn't need to know this, goddamnit!
It looked really cool until they showed what the game was.
So who is this for? The people who don't know who the characters are wouldn't care if a new IP was plastered on to the casino/microtransactions, and the people who do know Commander Keen would rather you die in a fire.
Hey this doesn't look so bad, what are you people complaining about - ITS A PHONE GAME OHHH FUCK I would have taken an EGS exclusive over that.
I guess even vague name recognition is enough to warrant using an existing IP? At least to marketers.
I like the art style but my fucking god WHY a mobile game?
I would've fucking loved to be a fly on the wall during the meeting where this got proposed and okay'd.
As much as I love to hate this announcement, I feel like we should probably give the game a fair shot. Bethesda seems to know what they're doing with the mobile market if Fallout Shelter and Elder Scrolls Blades says anything. And if all else fails, there's Rad Rodgers, from the creators of Rise of the Triad.
I can't speak for ES Blades especially as I have heard that it's almost a skinner box, but Fallout Shelter is at least what it is: A mobile spin off of a successful series. It is not a reboot of a dead series that still has a cult following that just got shat on!
Might as well take a shit on my family photo album because that's basically what this announcement is. Defecating on my past.
Good lord what the hell is that gameplay??
What the hell guys? It looks really neat! I love the artstyle, it's got tons of charm, and- Oh. Oh no
Honestly it just seems like a bad idea making a Keen game without Tom Hall's involvement. Keen is his baby, let him bring it back. Though I do think that Keen would make an okay mobile franchise with it cartoon lightheartedness

I would've been totally down for a legit reboot/remake. The artstyle is pretty legit. But this is horrifying.
It's like Diablo Immortal announcement fiasco didn't convey the message loud enough for some people.
I'm confused. The Saturday Morning Cartoon imagery tells me it's going to be kid-friendly with a bit of an edge, but the guy in the song goes "Commander Keen, he don't give a fuck" with the last one a totally censored swear. What is it Bethesda, a re-imagining geared to the old nostalgia crowd or a timepiece geared to the kids who knew Commander Keen?
Wow, they're taking this rebranding enterprise to heart. Possible Dangerous Dave game in the future?
TBH, i think the ideal way for Bethesda to revive the franchise would've been a $15 digital only game from Slipgate Ironworks because as i mentioned before, Rad Rodgers. They already know how to make a Commander Keen game.
I can't believe Zonesylvania is fucking dead.

The artstyle feels new in a Rayman Legends kind of way, too bad about the actual game though...
