The comic series was published by Dark Horse Comics, and acts as a prequel to the video games. Knights of the Old Republic takes place four thousand years prior to the Star Wars films, when Darth Malak – Darth Revan's apprentice – has unleashed a Sith armada against the Republic. The Sith Lords takes place five years after the events of Knights of the Old Republic, in a time when the Jedi have been nearly exterminated by the Sith. The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic comic book series takes places around 3,964 BBY, the Sith era, approximately eight years prior to the story of the video game series. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/swtor/images/4/44/TOR_Logo.png/revision/latest?cb=20120702114206 A sequel to the original two RPGs titled Star Wars: The Old Republic was released in 2011, it is an MMO title following the stories of eight individual classes that each have their own plots directly tied to the main events. Set 300 years after the events of the first 2 games during a time known as the Cold War (Later to be renamed to the Great Galactic War) between a recently resurgent Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic. The game has also had numerous expansion packs released, Rise of the Hutt Cartel, Shadow of Revan, Knights of the Fallen Empire and most recently Knights of the Eternal Throne. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/01/Star_Wars_Jedi_Knight_logo.svg Star Wars: Jedi Knight, is a first/third-person shooter video game series set in the fictional Star Wars expanded universe. The series focuses primarily on Kyle Katarn, a former Imperial officer who ultimately becomes a member of the New Republic and an instructor at the Jedi Academy. The Jedi Knight series began in 1995 with the release of Star Wars: Dark Forces. This was followed in 1997 by Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, in which Katarn learns the ways of a Jedi. In 1998, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith was released as an expansion pack for Dark Forces II, this time giving the player control of Mara Jade as well as Katarn. In 2002, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast was added to the series. Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy followed in 2003. Jedi Academy was the first game in the series where the player does not control Katarn at any point, although he is featured prominently in the story. This is in contrast to the Star Wars: X-Wing series, also by LucasArts, which were space combat simulation video games. The series deals with the Rebel Alliance unit, Rogue Squadron, who, under the command of Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles, use starfighters to engage and defeat the Galactic Empire. The games are set during episodes A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi and recreate the battles that take place during those films, notably the Battle of Hoth, which is in every Rogue Squadron game in one form or another. http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/29604955492432704/229DEEDE04FA9FDB93177912366BB9ED3CAD2DAB/ Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a multimedia project developed by LucasArts along with Dark Horse Comics, Lego, Hasbro, and Del Rey Books. It consists of a video game released in September 2008, a second video game released in October 2010, a tie-in novel, action figures, a comic book, a reference book, a role-playing game supplement, and a book on the making of the game. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed tells the story of Darth Vader's secret apprentice, code-named "Starkiller" but born Galen Marek. Set between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the story explores the aftermath of the Great Jedi Purge as well as the rise of Darth Vader. The events of The Force Unleashed are "pivotal" in Darth Vader's history and development as a character and offer illumination into other characters from Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. http://worthplaying.com/wpimages/e/m/empireatwar/68378.jpg Star Wars: Empire at War is a 2006 real-time strategy video game developed by Petroglyph Games and published by LucasArts. Set between Episode III and Episode IV, it focuses on the fledgling struggle between the Empire and the Rebels. In October 2006, an expansion titled Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption was released. It adds the "Zann Consortium" as a third faction in addition to a number of new features. http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/6000/header.jpg Star Wars: Republic Commando is a tactical first-person shooter video game, set in the Star Wars universe, released in 2005. The game is set during the events of the Clone Wars that started at the climax of the movie Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. In the game, the player takes command of a Clone commando team, made up of elite Clone troopers. These Clone commandos have been specially bred at the clone factories on Kamino. The commando team travels to various locations in the Star Wars universe, including Kashyyyk, Geonosis, and the derelict spacecraft Prosecutor. About two years pass from Delta Squad's first mission to the end of the game. http://gamesfirst.com/previews/jeremyk/bounty_hunter/logo.jpg Star Wars: Bounty Hunter was developed and published by LucasArts, released in 2002. The game was re-released on the PlayStation Store on April 28, 2015. In the game, players play as the bounty hunter Jango Fett, featured in the 2002 film Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, to which this game serves as a prequel. Both Temuera Morrison and Leeanna Walsman reprise their roles from the film as Jango Fett and Zam Wesell, respectively. During the game, it is revealed why Jango Fett was chosen as the template for the Grand Army of the Republic, how Boba Fett, his cloned "son" was born, and how Jango acquired Slave I. http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/3/3f/SOTE-logo.jpg Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire is a multimedia project created by Lucasfilm Ltd. in 1996. The original idea was to create a story set between the films The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi (a time no Star Wars novel had explored before), and to explore all commercial possibilities of a full motion picture release, without actually making the film. Several products were released, including a novel, a Junior novelization, comic book series, video games, trading cards, a soundtrack, role-playing games, toy figurines, vinyl dolls, a series of Micro Machines toys, statuettes, model kits, a series of action figures and vehicles, and so on. The entire Shadows of the Empire project, along with The Force Unleashed, though not technically a film, can be collectively considered the closest project to a film in the Star Wars official continuity, without actually being a film. This story is significant in that Lucas reportedly said he would have made a story like this into a movie if he had had the time and effort to do so back in the early 1980s. The main plot line is told in Steve Perry's novel, Shadows of the Empire, published by Bantam Books. It introduces Prince Xizor, the alien overlord of the largest criminal organization in the galaxy. The comic book emphasizes the destiny of Boba Fett and his fellow bounty hunters, first seen in a brief scene on The Empire Strikes Back. It also tells the story of Jix, Darth Vader's assistant, who infiltrated Jabba the Hutt's gang of bikers to prevent that band's attempt to murder Luke Skywalker. The series was written by John Wagner and illustrated by Kilian Plunkett. LucasArts's Shadows of the Empire was one of the first games available for the Nintendo 64, and later for Windows. The most commercial product in the Shadows of the Empire line, the game was first released in December 1996 as an exclusive N64 title five months after the console's launch. The PC version came nearly a year later in September 1997. In the game, players control mercenary Dash Rendar in his efforts to help Luke Skywalker and rescue Princess Leia from Prince Xizor's hands. http://www.vgmpf.com/Wiki/images/7/71/Star_Wars_-_X-Wing_vs._TIE_Fighter_-_W32_-_Title.png Star Wars: X-Wing is a series of space combat simulation video games and an expansion of the Star Wars franchise that attempts to simulate the fictional experience of starfighter combat, while remaining faithful to the movies. The player took the role of a pilot of the Rebel Alliance, and, in later games, the Galactic Empire. To complete the games, players must complete missions such as simple dogfights with opposition starfighters, reconnaissance and inspection tasks, escort duty for freighters or capital ships, or attacks on larger opposition ships. In addition to dog fighting designed to resemble the free-wheeling duels of World War I, the games also offered the challenge of managing power resources and wingmen, and using weapons effectively. http://k44.kn3.net/B50284AE3.png Star Wars: Battlefront is a series of first- and third-person shooter video games based on the Star Wars films. Players take the role of soldiers in either of two opposing armies in different time periods of the Star Wars universe. The series was launched in 2004 by LucasArts with Star Wars: Battlefront, developed by Pandemic Studios for LucasArts. The game received positive reviews and sold well. In 2005 Pandemic developed a sequel, Star Wars: Battlefront II, which was also critically and commercially successful. The games were followed by Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron (2007) and Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron (2009) for handheld consoles and Star Wars Battlefront: Mobile Squadrons for mobile devices. LucasArts made several attempts to get a third major Battlefront game off the ground but no projects were released before The Walt Disney Company's acquisition of LucasArts. Subsequently, EA DICE acquired a license to develop a new game, titled Star Wars Battlefront which was released on November 17 2015. The sequel to the reboot, Battlefront II was released on November 17 2017, and is apparently, still being updated as of August 2018. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107261/6412a035-38a8-4a03-a47b-2952694d2756/image.png A new game from Respawn Entertainment, promising a single player story invovling a Padawan who survived Order 66, hunted by one of the Imperial Inquisitors, Second Sister. Little is currently known, but it is a Third-Person Action Adventure game, with combat potentially reminiscent of Dark Souls. Lightsaber Forms are a confirmed aspect of the combat as well.
