Let's talk about the forums in a positive light. No shitflinging, no arguing, no drama. It's all coming to an end anyway, and we'll have a new beginning. Drama not allowed. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/326417/62b6d20b-4f57-4339-be3c-5fb7ab0079d1/image.png
Copy pasting then It's been a long time since I first joined Facepunch. Things that will be lost like tears in the rain over my lengthy stay at Hotel Garryfornia, where you can checkout any time you want but you can never leave: Co-created the SpaceBuild Models Pack (later known as SBEP or the SpaceBuild Enhancement Project; you're welcome, SpaceBuild Server Ops) Served as an Unofficial Community Liaison between the GMod community and SpaceBuild Helped a bunch of creators find air under their wings, who have gone on to do Great Things When I launched my own game on Facepunch -- and Facepunch was part of such a large e-mail bomb that Valve suddenly became interested enough to allow our game onto Steam in 2004 -- when nobody except big-name publishers could get on there. Surviving the majority of the Smartness Era with only a singular blemish to my record. Helping to educate people on how to build maps better (read: not with the Carve Tool) That One Time I Wrote An Entire Essay about In-Situ Retrieval of resources on the moon, posted it in General Discussion, and nobody cared. Witnessed the rise and fall of Rusty100.
legitimately had so much fun with SpaceBuild and SBEP. thank you so much!!!

I love FP. I love funny pictures. I love cute things. I love friends. I love video games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O57HGME-1QY
i made a knock-off forums software in case garry shuts down fp (and its happening) i hosted a ton of terrible minecraft servers and made a lot of friends discovered Steam and became a REAL pc gamer met a lot of people i still talk to learned a ton of skills because of fp
I found one of my best friends on Facepunch, it's also been a great drive for motivating me to do YouTube videos. Facepunch has taught me to be more humble online and not to take things personally. You guys have also sharpened my critical thinking and changed some of my political views on things like Gun Control. You've also informed me greatly on topics such as nuclear energy generation and LGBT+ people. FP has truly been my home on the internet for the last 5 years or so. I feel like you guys are the only one that appreciated the content I made whether videos or threads in the Gaming sub. I genuinely love most of you guys and in a totally homo way. Thanks for all the fun and I hope we can keep things going on KO.
LMAOpics is genuinely my biggest consistent source of happiness and enjoyment, even if for just a few minutes a day.
just smile
I unbanned Tudd

FP gave me two of the best friends I've ever had ( @Burning Grey , @Fish Warden ). People who I've talked to more than daily for over a decade and have gone on vacation with multiple times. It also gave me thousands of hours of entertainment for over half my life. I'm sad to see it go, but ever since the drastic drop in userbase and increase in drama following the transition to Newpunch, it is time.
Hi Hello I'm Captain
I'm going to miss this place, even though it's a shell of it's former self. I think the best time I've had on Facepunch was back around 2011 when everyone from the Halo megathread used to all hop on Halo: Reach and play custom games. I think most of those guys don't even browse FP anymore, but logging onto my xbox account and seeing all the names of the guys I used to play Halo with really makes me miss those times. I'm also going to miss all the drama FP brings too. Since fp_popular got removed it's felt like I've missed all the funny/crazy moments this site has to offer because I just don't end up bumping into the threads.
posting my happy boy to lift forum spirits https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/246292/48bf5552-d6f6-411e-9a4d-c946088a5703/533C04DC-5255-4854-ABCF-4EBD0EDAFE66.jpeg
hey wait i feel like i remember playing the original browser alpha of Rust with you whaddup
Funnily enough your username is my first name and my first initial of my last name. Christopher P. Figured I’d tell you at this point with the forums.
Strong name. Us Christopher P's need to rise up and make our own exclusive forum.
today's not a day to be sad think about all the anxiety everybody felt every time newpunch had a hiccup now we know exactly where we're going today's the eve of a bright new age for facepunch newpunch is dead, long live knockout
Today made me remember all the old friends here I used to talk to on the daily, and how I now regret moving on from a lot of them. Tomorrow provides me the opportunity to go back to a lot of them like it was only yesterday.
Wish I could say I had any friends from here. On the other hand, less shit lost so that's a bonus.
i helped @Hezzy with nationcraft :v
Discovered several of my favorite games here, met a lot of cool people to play them with. I guess that hasnt happened since newpunch so that says something.
it feels unreal that facepunch is actually shutting down, its been part of my daily routine for almost 10 years. dunno who I'd be without facepunch. this is all just so sad. dunno what to feel about Knockout either. I already made an account so I'll be there but I feel like it'll be a completely different thing than this. if it doesn't capture the spirit of FP, then I dunno what to do with the internet anymore. hopefully it's good gonna miss this place and all of you guys who turned it into what it was. its been great
I made friends I'll keep after this forum shuts down. I made an enemy that became my friend. I had somewhere to go and something to do with my time when I was depressed and unmotivated and unable to do anything with myself. I learned how to post better, which actually means I learned how to express myself better, and how to argue more effectively. I have grown as a person. This community has meant a lot to me, even if I spent too much time shitposting in Polidicks and if I used to fanboy way too hard about Star Citizen that I've the reputation of being "THE FP SC guy".
Facepunch is a wonderful place it has many great kitties @Mewkat https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58145/e029c13b-c240-40f7-9976-cc7257d53e7f/1559278027160.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58145/c0a27cb9-e337-458c-9eaa-e3d6401f9ca6/67654.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58145/e0414203-d805-45ff-bee2-77139743a733/4545456565.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58145/08ad20a0-d783-4348-924e-eb5fb074bc0e/54515345345.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58145/2e967ab9-0aa4-4b28-8f8e-6e9f7446347b/625656236456.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58145/562abbd1-9cb1-400b-8c51-acd214a5eb55/546245645645.png

Garrysmod is what got me into Half-Life and Valve stuff, and from there nearly all of my friends over the years involved those subjects in some way. My current social group, and by far the strongest, is a direct result of meeting people on Facepunch. One of my best friends of all time I met simply because I posted something in a thread mentioning I was from Pennsylvania, and they sent me a PM about it. Incredible how such a simple act could go so far.
