I don't think it's fair how lenient the language he was using was. It's not "five years from now, some of these people will be dead", it's "Five years from now, you will have killed some more of these people". Government apathy like this is the clearest and most blatant case of murder you could possibly have. One of the things I hate more than America is a political class that genuinely doesn't care, and never, ever faces repercussions. Jon is completely right.
The state of the US senate is horrendous.
Just thoughts and prayers.
What a fuckin disgrace. Absolutely disgusting.
For the record, if you want to see a breakdown of where specific candidates fall on the bill, this website has the info. In summary though; Of 235 Democrats listed, 226 are sponsors of this act. 9 are not. That's 96.17% democrat support. Of 198 Republicans listed, 78 are sponsors of this act. 120 are not. That's 39.39% republican support.
Jon Stewart for President.
This, but unironically. Stewart has been fighting for the Zadroga stuff for YEARS. I have always admired him hugely as a person, but the stuff he did for the 9/11 first responders a few years ago was so obviously from the heart and we're so lucky to have him.
Anyone still wanna argue "both sides the same" bullshit? Didn't think so.
