Please keep the forums read-only for some time to allow people to Archive stuff

While I would love to see the forums live on for at least 10 more years, it looks like its days are finally numbered.
If possible, I would urgently and humbly like to request to slowly shut down the forums instead of just pulling the plug sometime this week.

Two points I would please like to be considered:
Please clearly broadcast when the forums will be taken down permanently.
Please allow for some time (1-2 weeks if possible) to allow people to set up their systems.
If possible, would it be possible to open up the forums a bit to allow access to threads that are currently behind a 404?

Someone already contacted Archive Team a few months ago, but it looks like it has been put on the backburner because a definite shutdown date has never been agreed upon.

Finally, on a personal note. Thank you everyone, and I really mean everyone, even you @garry , that has contributed here. This place really felt like a second home to me. I wish you all well, and may our roads cross again in the future.
