When I started playing Rust, I got the impression it was all about spawn, kill and be killed over and over and I started to sing a song for myself describing how I felt about it.

And each time I feel like this inside,
There's one thing I want to know:
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

So, I thought there was more than me out there wanting a more peaceful environment and Diamonds and Rust was born.

Diamonds and Rust is a peaceful server. There are not many specific rules but we go by the unwritten rule of do not shoot until you are shot upon. This is not the same as saying killing and raiding is forbidden - it's not. I only created the framework for a more peaceful environment, but the players decide themselves how they want to act and behave.

I do believe that people searching for a peaceful server will contribute to keep it peaceful and so far it has been a friendly atmosphere there where people help each other out much more than what I've seen on other servers.

To aid the friendly environment, raiding has been made harder on Diamonds and Rust by different mods such as:
- Autoturrets with increased range and health
- Traps can be stepped on by owner and friends without going off plus traps reload every 5 seconds
- Twig rules from before devblog 158, so no ladders or twig can be built within TC range
- Increased TC range and no decay for buildings within TC
- Plagued (to police the Solo/Duo policy)
