I updated the quoting. It should only show text from the quoted post now (not quoted text too).. and the padding and shit shouldn't fuck up with multiple quotes. This is using a new, more thorough method of embedding the quote in your post (which will allow mentions etc). The downside is that you can't edit the quoted post . To offset that if you select the parts of the post you want to reply to, and then hit reply, it'll quote only those parts.
Fancy.
This Millennial forum tech shit is too advanced for me. Me like!!!
It's never really been a problem on Oldpunch. It just allowed for breaking long posts into individual bits to reply to each one or the occasional "ftfy" post. The first part is still possible You just re-select and hit the quote button again, and the second part isn't really a huge loss.
No smileys tho
Ye still can't quote images and media too
I didn't think that was very desirable, maybe it should convert them to links?
That would be a good idea, saves visual space as well.
Thumbnails that expand and dim the background or dropdowns would be nice, especially if the latter had an option to have them always be pre-open for people like me who spend a lot of time in LMAOPics.
Quote removes spoilers //How about codes? Might cause inconvenience for specific subforums
Radical
This is some wizardry.
looks great. also it'd be nice if either the quote was clickable so you could jump to that peron's post and see the context of it (IE: if it was a post replying to someone else) or if we did like old FP does and have it contain only the quote of who that person was replying to and prune out any extra quotes beyond that so you don't end up with massive ugly quote pyramids.
wouldn't that already be obvious from the URL?
Maybe, but for formatted links like you might have through markdown where you can choose the text displayed, it would make it prettier and remove the need to hover. The only problem will come from image sharing websites that don't have the file extension in the URL.
