Haven't found any answers online, so I suppose I should post here. Whenever I select play on the game, it acts if it is about to launch, but it shows an hourglass and never comes up. The steam interface/screen is still shown. The taskbar shows it running.
If alt-tabbed away and back to it, all that is shown is just a small blue rectangle in the top left corner (About a centimeter or inch wide) and any windows below (Steam, in my case, with Garry's mod that shows "Play" and my other games and so on.)
