Hey guys, this will be different for everyone as we have different graphics cards.
I can play the game at around 35-40 fps depending on where i look. However when i hit record (dxtory) it drops just enough to have a noticeable effect in combat, it lags ever so slightly, it drops to around 25-28 frames.
Does anyone know anything that might gain me a couple of frames that would also iron that ever so slight choppyness once i hit record?
Help is much appreciated, sarcasm is not.
I can't tell if you're being serious. I think everyone looses some FPS when they start recording. It's because your computer is suddenly doing A LOT more then it was before.
You also didn't even post your computer specs after making the very true statement about "This will be different for everyone as we have different graphics cards" That is a very true statement so why wouldn't you tell us what yours is.
It's totally normal that you lose (a lot) of FPS during recording, unless you have a really powerful computer.

I understand what your saying, and i was simply asking if there was any software, tips or anything that might help, like turning off grass, universal things that will help everyone not one specific graphics card.
Im getting a new graphics card at some point hopefully to use shadow play to record but, for now i have am Geforce GT 640 2gb
I have i5 3550k 3.3ghz
8gb RAM
You must've had a high-end machine your entire life that you never experienced the FPS drop when recording, This is normal, I lose like 5-10 fps when recording and i have a dual core

This depends on your record resolution and codec.
You could record with a zero frame loss, but just on something around 640x420 (better PC = higher res).
It all depends on the CPU you're recording with

Thats (basically) wrong.
Get a pass through video recorder if you don't want performance loss.

This stuff + HDD's (or SDD's) is expensive.
You could upgrade your PC with that money.
i prefer sli or crossfire gpu. can boost a bit and not too expensive.

I think thats pretty expensive. Well, depends on the model you want to buy.
Some AMD GPU's are better (and cheaper) with crossfire instead of one Nvidia GPU solo.

indeed. nvidia op. crossfire + apu, cheapest solution imho.
