• For a new player, Rust requires a special player, it may not be for you...

The majority of us will agree that rust is a refreshing game. In its current state its a little rough around the edges but then again its an alpha. After reading numerous posts on several different forums I saw scores of people who are not having a good time with the game. If you are on the fence here are some things you need to consider. 1- survival of the fittest. Adapt and overcome. The sole purpose of the game is to survive. For some, the game may have a steep learning curve. 2- The game is an example of humanity, more times than not the lack of humanity. There are people in this world that have been caught eating someone's face.. Why wouldn't they kill you for nothing more than a laugh. 3- More isn't always better. Making a house inspired off of MTV cribs may not be the best choice if you don't want to attract attention. Size and location are key. Then again, if you want to invite a fight.... 4- don't cry about c4.. Just don't do it. Join a server with Oxide . More often than not it will make c4 rarer to get. Don't knock someone because they have a few. It requires a lot of work and resources to make. 5- Doors. Have 50 or have 3. I use the latter. If you find a great location that's all you need. I have only been raided once when I first started. If you can't find me, you can't raid me. 6- keep your head on a swivel.. Just because you think you are safe harvesting your wood, or doing god knows what with that bear carcass... Treat every situation like you are being watched. Don't walk directly home, take a cover and concealed path. Double back if need be. 7- know your area well. You may have to find your way back in the dark. I know there are more but those are some key points for me. You may find them useful. Now mind you, I haven't posted anything about hackers, or scripters. There are enough posts about that. Find a server with a good community. If you want to build a house, cook some bear-chicken, play Suzie home maker, and not worry about being murdered. Rust is not the game for you. If you want to enjoy a hard, dynamic game. A game that requires to you adapt and change to every situation and player differently, then buy it now. Please add to ( remember this is my own opinion)
Find a server with a good community.
Well written little guide, that one sentence already kind of covers it at the moment ;)
