I was wondering if they are plans to make it so you can enter a number for splitting stack. This would be a large quality of life improvement.
Repeat, Although still no answer.

I know people don't like taking minecraft stuff but I am just going to flat out say it;
WE NEED TO TAKE THE ENTIRE MINECRAFT INVENTORY SYSTEM

Being able to split stacks as you see fit would be a cool addition. I play with a friend and we often share what we gather, and sometimes we don't need to share even, so we have to split items like 10 times before getting the number we want, so yeah. :P

Never mind sharing items. I generally like to take ~6 cooked chicken with me to serve as light healing items and emergency food and just getting that out of my 40+ chicken back at base takes quite a bit of stack splitting. Being able to pick the number is a feature I would GREATLY appreciate even for solo play.
Yeah, enter numbers for split and crafting stuff like gunpowder etc. would be nice to have.
also dragging an item over a filled spot should switch them out, just a small thing that gives the player a little more fluid inventory experience
Maybe something like holding down left mouse button and typing a number, then when you release the left mouse button that many separate into a new square?

The minecraft inventory doesn't allow you to select how much of the item you want to split.... -_-

It does let you pick up a stack and right click to split off the stack one at a time though. My math skills have had more workout than they've had since college trying to figure out how to take half of half of halves to add up to a number I am trying to hit.
They had it well organized in Ethernal Lands. In your inventory you would have few buttons: 1,10,100,1000. Then when clicking on stack, it would pick up that amount items. The values were also customizable, so you could set them up to the most commonly used, or to set it exact value if needed...
BTW anyone else noticed some similarities between rust and Ethernal Lands ;)?

Rust already allows you to do that....

noooo it doesn't
Hey, it's a bit low priority right now we'll get to it eventually, just split a few times for now :)
Alternatively what you can do is pick up an item and right click on a square that is empty (or the same type) and it will drop one at a time into that slot, a bit untested though, let me know if that works
