Ban Appeal. - Rust - Facepunch Forum

I wish to appeal this ban as I do not believe I am deserving of it. Allow me to explain why/how I happened to be associated with a hacker. Basically, since the start of the wipe, Friday 3rd June around 5am AEST, our group had been being harassed by multiple hackers. We still managed to build, albeit slower than we would've liked. We sent in multiple reports regarding these hackers to no avail. One of the main hackers was [rektem] Snottyfeet. He was blatantly aimbotting and most likely using esp. I can link his steam id but I don't want this to turn into a report thread. There were another two players in the [rektum] group who were harassing us as well but I don't believe them to be hacking, that was neon and nomixa who have since left snottyfeets group. Someone else on the server messaged one of our players telling him that he had found the base location of [rektum]. I went to scout it out by myself with just a bow and arrow as I was planning to offline raid them. Can't really online a hacker after all. When I got to roughly where their base was, I saw 3 geared players, all wearing black hoodies, which I knew to be [rektum]'s uniform attacking a solo geared player. I helped the solo geared player out as best I could with just a bow and we ended up taking them all out. The geared players name was cya. He let me grab one of their sets of gear and he grabbed the rest. I chatted to him for a bit and he came with me to scout out the base. When we got to the base, cya ran up to the wall and it looked like he went afk. Within a few second a message popped up on the server saying cya was banned for hacking. Being early days and in need of gear, I grabbed his shit and tried to run it back to my base. After about 5 minutes of running, I also got banned, however mine was for hacker association. I was unaware that cya was a hacker until he got banned and had only known him for roughly two minutes. My mistake was either helping him or stealing his stuff but as I was unaware he was a hacker, I do not believe I am deserving of a ban. Cheers for your consideration. So this seems legit if its trustable. I had the samekind of Event yesterday when i helped a gear guy and he let me take some loot in advance but then again, It could also been a lie and you deserve the bann because that guy is youre friend and thats the Problem. Do you have any records or something like that you could add? Also do you know which admin did bann you?

It was an official server so it had to have been a dev who banned me and I am unsure who it was. I've never had this cya player added. He's not my friend. Not sure what kind of records I could add. I don't record or anything when I play so there is no way to actually prove anything to you.

Well there was dude. It came up on the server for everyone to see and 5 minutes later I also received a ban. It wasn't eac or anything. It was manually done by a dev.

Still nothing came up... If you're lying about not having him as a friend or the nature of this 'hacker' the developers will have no problem seeing through that. I have yet to see any manual bans by a developer to be handed out, without good reason and proof of a player exploiting, racist comments or benefiting from a hacker. You should consider yourself lucky you can even play on official servers.

Don't tell me I should consider myself lucky when you have no idea about the situation at all. I'm content to sit here and wait for a dev to view and respond to my thread. Why wouldn't I be able to play on official servers when I haven't hacked or played with hackers? Just because you can't find someone on the ban list doesn't mean I'm a liar. That's like blaming someone because you're too stupid to find something. Don't bother to comment unless you have something useful to say or are actually aware of the situation. I wasn't mistaken. The guy's name was cya. I'm sure anyone who was online on Facepunch Sydney 2 at the time of the ban can confirm this.

It is a good post. With a little research, it will be easy to tell truth from fiction. It's been 5 days now. He at least deserves acknowledgement from someone in that sector. I too have been banned on private server for an unknown reason. It is very frustrating and unfair. A simple response of "we will look in to it" is too much? Maybe this is not the correct method for this inquiry though.
