So about 20 mins ago I brought Rust, tried to play it on IE but it always crashed. I decided to download Google Chrome to see if it fixed the problem, it worked all the way until I got in game. The lag was unbearable, so I'm asking here what would be causing the lag so I can composite for it. I'm sorry if this has already been posted somewhere but I can't seem to find any solutions, but I do have several theories of my own.
1. Too many players logging on at once.
2. Too many objects on server at once.
3. Chrome is powerful enough to run it.
4. My internet isn't fast enough (even though I can play video in 1080P on YouTube without delay).
5. My PC specs aren't high enough.

integrated graphics cards do not work well with rust
There was 302 player who played... Before this (about a week ago) the game still lagged.

Also will this mean I need a new PC or can you upgrade you PC to have the motherboard and graphics card separate?

Do you mean connection lag and the server not being responsive? Or do you mean clientside framerate lag i.e. choppy

Because people with integrated graphics usually have issues.

The second one, appears to be skipping a lot of frames, making very hard to control anything.

Helk has always been active. Most video games have issues with Intel onboard graphics, especially Rust.
Yes I'm using a 2 year old laptop but I'm still able to play most CPU demanding games without any trouble.
Strange that this is an exception... Just gonna to check my CPU with this game
Well my diagnosis( as many others have stated) is your graphics card is the limiting factor of your system.

We told you, it's your graphics card.
I know that, so there is not much I can do is there, thats why I said I can try again later (on another computer)
I also get the freeze lag, very difficult to play well in pvp
I have Intel Core i7 CPU 960 @ 3.20GHz/3.20GHz, 12,0 GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6900
The freeze lag only happens when you are taking the last shot which klls you. Death animation is bugged or shit. Even if it didn't lag you'd be dead.
YEah it lags when you die but it also lags for me other times too

RUST also has spezial problems with the Intel Graphics cards.
I suggest you get a new motherboard , capable of atleast 8 Gb Ram. (Yes i know , RUST and(or chrome dont use more then 4 GBs... But i think RUST is not the only thing he is gonna play , right?
You shall be able to play this with any 50$ card. I think your processor should be finde, but not sure about that.

Thats not an really good answer as im getting very good frames (50-over-100)
Its in Alpha , Preprepre-Alpha but it doesend mean its not capable to run properly.

many people will get really good FPS, many people will get shit FPS
it's not even out yet, the game isn't even a full game yet, they're still testing to see what can make or break the game and to do they they'll have to occasionally update it knowing something can break for most people just to see if it will actually do that for everyone
it doesn't mean it won't run properly but it's not going to run across all platforms nearly as good as a full fledged game
many people might be able to fix it but many people will also just have to wait until they get much better support.
