Does the armor / clothing have any effect in Rust Experimental (yet), other than to make you even more of a target for not being a nekid Newman?
I know the Hazmat suits made you invincible for the first couple of days after they were introduced, but I believe this didn't last for long? Do they protect you against Radiation at all?
Does the metal armor do anything? I upgraded to full metal helmet and chest plate, but still got killed from 1 hit with a rock... has anyone done any testing of HP yet?
metal armour should protect you from any blows that hit the metal parts; so for example the chest plates will protect you from being bodyshot, but not from the side. might be glitched though, i haven't bothered testing it for a while (since the sleeping bags started being a problem).
none of the clothes seem to have properties yet, so no protection from rads, cold or damage.
Okay, thanks mrknifey. So no point sporting my Hazmat suit yet ... the only things worth wearing are the metal helmets and chest plates.
and the snow jacket because its awesome:)

True dat. I really want them to add the red hoodie back in, and jeans...
yeah, i hit a guy on the unprotected spot at the back of his neck and he died in 1 hit from a rock whilst wearing full metal
not sure i like the idea of such big weak spots on whats supposed to be the best armour
Yea, I was showing my friend he was protected from melee blows with the mask on.
Clang! Clang!
"See? No damage."
Clang! Clang! THUMP!
*He falls dead to the floor
"Opps.."

On the other hand, do you really want those bandits running your way to also have juggernaut capabilities?

I wouldn't be rushing to wear Hazmat gear :) I haven't checked this report yet...

meh, its primitively built sheets of metal strapped onto your body, and big metal buckets sat on your head. it's the "best" armor we can make, but not comparable to real suits of armor;)

I agree with that, hit boxes should be allocated within this fashion, would be much more realistic feel to the game!
i avoid wearing hazmat due to that its fluro color is like a target sign, maybe they'll come in camo later.
doubt it, they are meant to be highly visible for rescue(in their actual purpose anyway)
that said, i expect kevlar will be a bit more military, and thus stand out a whole lot less that the bright yellow suit with a goldfish bowl for a hat;)
Interesting to hear that the Hazmat actually places you at a disadvantage, (apart from the fact that you stand out like a sore thumb in the open)...
Hey! Um, I have tried putting on a Wood-Camo Snow jacket with a Metal Chest plate. This removes either that I have already put on. Is this a bug or is this how it's supposed to be like?

It's supposed to be, at least for the time being, you can only wear the metal chest plates over the green t-shirt or the burlap shirt, (although many people have argued that you should be able to wear it under the snow jackets).
TIP: If you play with a buddy, they can press "e" on you, and equip you with the metal chest plates and the snow jacket. It's a bug, and it only works if someone else equips you, you can't load it yourself.
