How to Report A hacker via the client. - Rust

A lot of people have been having spaz attacks in-game when they are repeteadly no-clipped, or tp hacked in their base. If you aren't streaming or running fraps at the moment, it might be difficult to substantiate your claims outside the game. Plus, I'm sure Garry has enough on his plate as it is coding and the added bonus of the rampant use of hacks in the game. Doesn't seem like VAC has kicked in fully since the offenders are the same (and they seem to be growing due to impunity). As a community, we should use the tools at hand to alleviate the burden on the development team which isn't composed of dozens of people - Use the Steam Profile reporting page (Pictures below). If you get hacked into your base and blown into bits with a shotty, as we all have, then immediately SHIFT+TAB, click on ALL PLAYERS, and find the offender - The name is the same as in-game - and go to his profile. There, click on MORE and select REPORT A VIOLATION - > Suspected Cheater/Hacker/Whatever. VAC might not be working, but at least they'll have a record of complaints that could draw some attention for anti-cheat team in steam. Not saying that you shouldn't contact garry directly, but I'm hoping to alleviate the "OMGZ SO AND SO HACKED ME AND HERE PRUFF GARRY. BAN THIS, MY ENJOYMENT > ALPHA PRIORITIES" emails I'm sure his inbox is filled with...plus the one-liner threads people create on the forum that make suggestions/discussion threads fall behind. To OP, that report violation is for steam, nothing to do with Garry's game. The only way you report "cheaters" is to record with something like fraps and submit to Garry @ the provided email address. Have a nice day.

Well I got kind of a heavy course load, what college are you going to? I'm at Washington State University Vancouver (sorry for the off-topic :v: I'll reroute the conversation I swear!) Anyways, as someone said right above me, (though I partially disagree,) you should also report to garry, since a VAC ban still does not clear up hacks. Helping the developers to become aware of hacks helps them to look into it and potentially block them.

Falls under usage of games withing the STEAm platform, especially ones that are covered by VAC.
